CNN African Voices to Feature Olori Atuwatse III

Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Consort of the Warri Kingdom, is set to be featured on CNN’s African Voices Changemakers programme in recognition of her work in education, women’s empowerment, healthcare and community development.

According to a statement, the programme, scheduled to air from July 11 to 19, will highlight the initiatives she has championed through the Royal Iwere Foundation (RIF).

The foundation’s interventions include teacher training programmes, science and innovation initiatives, skills acquisition, healthcare support and projects aimed at expanding educational and economic opportunities for women, children and underserved communities in the Warri Kingdom.

The statement added that the foundation has also provided scholarships to students, including initiatives targeted at improving access to education for girls.

It noted that the Royal Iwere Foundation Skills Institute was established to equip women and young people with vocational skills and provide support for entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.

Beyond her community-based initiatives, Olori Atuwatse III serves on Nigeria’s High-Level Advisory Committee on Women’s Economic Empowerment and Gender, where she contributes to discussions on policies aimed at expanding opportunities for women.

She has also participated in a number of local and international engagements focused on education, leadership and women’s development.

African Voices Changemakers is a CNN programme that profiles individuals whose work is contributing to social and economic development across Africa.
