The movie is available for viewing on the Omoni Oboli TV YouTube Channel.

Taking to her Instagram page, the actress and producer expressed gratitude to God for the success of the funeral.

Omoni announced that in Alex’s memory and to honour his legacy, she is releasing her movie, The First Lady, and donating the proceeds to his family.

Omoni noted how Alex came, saw and conquered. She said he will forever be in her heart and affirmed her love for him. “We’ve laid our bestie Alexx to rest in the glory of God. Thank you, Jesus!

“In his memory and to honour his legacy, I am releasing our movie THE FIRST LADY on Omoni Oboli TV on YouTube by 5pm. The proceeds will go to the family, so please help us share widely.

Love you all so much, besties

Alexx Ekubo! You came, you saw! You conquered! You are forever in our hearts, bestie. Love you forever.”

Alexx’s death pulled a large number of sympathisers, including family, friends and colleagues from the film industry and beyond to his final resting place in Arochukwu, Abia State, on Thursday. The 40-year-old screen star passed away on May 11, 2026, following a battle with metastatic kidney cancer.

Viral videos from the funeral service captured the emotional moment the actor’s casket was brought in, drawing tears from family members and prominent colleagues who travelled to the Southeast to pay their final respects.

The burial drew an array of notable personalities from the entertainment, political class, business sectors, and other eminent dignitaries.
