Tinubu Presides Over FEC Meeting

Deji Elumoye in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu is presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House, Abuja.

The meeting, which is the third in the life of Tinubu’s five-month-old administration, is holding at the Council Chambers and it

commenced at around 1:06pm.

Almost all members of the cabinet, excluding Vice-President Kashim Shettima, who is away on official visit to Iowa, the United States of America, are attending the meeting.

Those in attendance include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr (Mrs) Folashade Yemi-Esan; Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; and National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, had last week announced that FEC meeting will now hold on Mondays as against the previous schedule of Wednesday.

He also explained that it is not mandatory for the meeting to hold every week as it will only hold when Council has issues to attend to.
