Lagos APC Supports Tinubu, Says He’s Leader Nigeria Needs at This Critical Time

As Nigeria continued to grapple with political and economic problems, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State have said that Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the kind of leader that is needed by Nigeria at this critical period.

The leaders at a rally of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) in Kosofe Federal Constituency of Lagos State, also declared their support for the presidential ambition of the party’s national leader even as they urged Nigerians to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Speaking at the rally, former Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, wondered why anyone could be against Tinubu given the good works he had performed in Lagos.

Ogunlewe insisted that Tinubu is the only Yoruba political leader who could lead the nation right now, even as he lamented that the youth who made up more than 60 percent of the voting population, have refused to register.

He said: “My message is of two folds. First, since 2019, we have been saying that Tinubu will become Nigeria’s president. He is the only person who can face them. He will become the president by God’s grace.”

In his speech, an APC chieftain, Mr. Wale Edun, said that it is the time for Tinubu to become the country’s president, adding that the ex-governor has the capacity to govern Nigeria.

Edun said: “It is the time of a Yoruba man to become Nigeria’s president and we know it is our leader who has the capacity to do it. We are here because of the youth. You must register and collect your PVC now to elect our leader in the forthcoming election.”

A Third Republic Senator, Senator Anthony Adefuye, described Tinubu as the best man for the job, maintaining that Tinubu would succeed Buhari in 2023 against all odds, as he has paid his dues in Nigeria’s politics.

Adefuye, however, berated some politicians in the South-west who are backstabbing Tinubu after riding on his back to become notable politicians.

He said: “Tinubu will become president in 2023 regardless of all obstacles. It is unfortunate that some people who call themselves Yorubas want to run against Tinubu that made them who they are today.”

Among the APC leaders in attendance were a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, who launched the TSG; the Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Council, Mr. Moyo Ogunlewe, and a host of APC leaders and members of the Governance Advisory Council in the constituency.
