Buhari Appoints Two New Provosts for FCEs Obudu, Katsina

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday approved the appointments of Dr. James Bassey Ejue and Dr. Aliyu Idris Funtua as the new Provosts of Federal College of Education Obudu, Cross River State, and Federal College of Education, Katsina, Katsina State, respectively.

Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, who announced the appointments in his office on Friday, said the conditions of service, including remunerations and fringe benefits, shall be as approved for Provosts in Federal Colleges of Education in the country.

Dr. Ejue, 52 holds a Doctorate Degree in Guidance and Counselling in 2003 from the University of Calabar. Until this appointment, he was the Provost of the Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa.

Dr. Funtua, 56, holds a PhD in Hausa Language from Bayero University, Kano, in 2015. He
was the acting Provost of the institution before his new appointment. The two Chief Executives are happily marriage with children.

According to a statement signed by the Deputy Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Goong, “The appointments are with effect from the 19th of August, 2016, and for a first term of four years subject to renewal for a second term.”
