IMAN Appoints Ndubisi Ugo as National President

The Board of Trustees of the Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN) has appointed Chief Dr. Ndubisi George Ugo as the new National President of the association.

Ugo’s appointment took effect on August 1, 2026, following a decision by the Board communicated in a letter dated July 21, 2026.

Before his elevation, Ugo served as the National Vice Chairman of IMAN.

In a statement, the Board said the appointment was based on Ugo’s experience, dedication and contributions to the association, as well as his administrative and leadership capabilities demonstrated during his tenure as vice chairman.

The Board said it had formally communicated the appointment to relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, trade unions, maritime practitioners, trade facilitators and international trade partners.

As National President, Ugo is expected to oversee the administration of the association and lead its activities while working with members and stakeholders to advance the interests of Nigerian importers.

The Board expressed confidence that his experience, leadership qualities and administrative competence would contribute to the growth, unity and stability of IMAN.

It also called on members of the association and other stakeholders to support the new leadership and cooperate with Ugo as he assumes office.

The Board congratulated Ugo on his appointment and expressed optimism that his tenure would contribute to the continued development and advancement of the association.
