Heirs Insurance Votes N11.5m for Essay competition

In a deliberate efforts to create insurance awareness among Nigerian youths, Heirs Insurance Group, has voted N11.5 million prize for students and teachers across the country for this year’s edition of its annual Junior Secondary School Essay Competition.

The group at the weekend opened applications for the fifth edition of the annual competition.

The initiative according to the Heirs Group aims to drive insurance and financial literacy at an early age and to ensure proper insurance education among educators. 

This year’s edition features N11.5 million prizes for winning students, teachers, and schools, reinforcing the group’s commitment to driving insurance awareness at an early stage. 

In a statement, the group said the  winning students would  receive a N5 million scholarship along with a N1 million education grant for their schools. The statement said the  first and second runners-up would  receive N3 million and N1 million scholarships, respectively. In addition, insurance-focused themes and quizzes have been embedded into the application process for students, ensuring early engagement with the concept of insurance. 

The group therefore invited students to submit original essays of no more than 500 words on the topic “The Power of Insurance in Creating Safer and More Secure Societies.” 

According to the group, submissions will  run  from May 27 until July 8, 2026, via the official portal at www.heirsinsurancegroup.com/essay.
