Sierra Leone To Host Olu of Warri At Bio Leadership Colloquium

The revered and highly respected first-class monarch, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri will serve as guest speaker at the 2nd Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium scheduled to hold at the Bintumani Conference Centre in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Recall that in April, His Majesty was a keynote speaker at the 2026 African Development Conference held at the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Law School in the United States, where he spoke on Africa’s development prospects and the role of visionary leadership in driving continental progress.

The high-level gathering, which will also host the African Young Leaders Convergence, is expected to bring together notable leaders, policymakers and young change-makers from across the continent.

The colloquium, themed, “Reimagining African Leadership: Courage, Accountability and Innovation in an Era of Global Uncertainty,” will focus on shaping a new leadership culture for Africa amid growing economic, political and social challenges confronting the continent.

Organisers said the event is aimed at inspiring a new generation of African leaders committed to transformational governance and sustainable development.

Special Guest of Honour at the event is the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, who is expected to lead discussions on leadership, governance and regional cooperation.

Other distinguished personalities expected at the conference include former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Patricia Scotland, and former President of Malawi, Joyce Banda.

The participation of the Olu of Warri has continued to attract significant attention across diplomatic and leadership circles following his growing influence on global platforms.

The convergence is also expected to provide a platform for networking, policy engagement and strategic partnerships among emerging African leaders and global stakeholders.
