President Bola Tinubu has sent warm greetings to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, as he clocked 63 on January 15.

The President, in a release issued on Thursday by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the former member of the House of Representatives, two-time Senator and a former acting Chairman of the APC as a consummate statesman and distinguished public servant whose life has been devoted to service, leadership, and nation-building.

Tinubu recalled that Senator Kyari served with distinction as Commissioner in Borno State, overseeing multiple ministries, with a record of rare versatility, competence, and an unwavering commitment to the public good.

According to the President: “As a leading light in our Renewed Hope administration in charge of Agriculture and Food Security, you have brought innovation and foresight to the sector, championing mechanisation as a pathway to productivity, food security, and economic resilience.

“Through well-thought-out reforms and policies, you have helped the administration in driving down food inflation, stabilising food prices, strengthening value chains, and repositioning agriculture as a viable and profitable enterprise.”

Tinubu equally noted the institutionalisation of a system that encourages youth participation in agriculture, thereby creating a new generation that has embraced farming as a veritable means of livelihood.

The President prayed for continued good health and renewed strength and courage for Senator Kyari to realise his dream of food sufficiency for our nation.
