Abuja – Nigerian civic leader and social development advocate, Yusuff Liadi Abiodun, has been nominated for the 2025 Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize, an internationally renowned recognition that honours exceptional individuals demonstrating visionary, values-based leadership in confronting the world’s most complex challenges.
The Tällberg Prize, administered by the Sweden-based Tällberg Foundation in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), identifies and celebrates leaders who are redefining leadership for the 21st century driven by integrity, courage, innovation, and a commitment to global betterment.
Yusuff, who serves as the Chief Executive of iLEAD AFRICA, a leading civic innovation hub based in Abuja, has been at the forefront of efforts to promote open governance, civic participation, and community-led development. Through initiatives such as Be The Change, he has successfully mobilised thousands of young people across Nigeria and the African continent to become active participants in governance and social accountability.
Reacting to his nomination, Yusuff stated:
“This is not just a personal honor. It’s a reflection of what young people from the Global South can achieve when given the tools, the voice, and the platform to lead. I dedicate this to every young changemaker rising to transform their communities.”
Yusuff’s recognition comes at a time when global conversations around leadership are shifting toward inclusivity, sustainability, and youth-driven innovation values that he and his organisation have consistently championed. Stakeholders across Nigeria’s civil society, diplomatic circles, and youth networks have lauded the nomination as a significant milestone for African youth leadership on the global stage.
Since its inception, the Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize has honored leaders from diverse sectors including governance, activism, climate, science, and human rights individuals united by their boldness, clarity of purpose, and deep impact.
The 2025 laureates will be announced later this year, following a rigorous global selection process.
