Thought leaders, industry professionals and marketing practitioners will next week converged on Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, to further drum support for the marketing profession and identify its various strengths in lifting businesses and economy.
The event, with the theme; ‘Leveraging ESG in driving value across generations’, is part of the activities lined up for the 2025 annual general meeting (AGM) of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN).
The event, which will hold from June 19 to June 21, will also witness the induction of 95 associate members.
The organisers said during a press briefing in Lagos that the AGM would bring together experts and academia to explore the evolving role of marketing in a purpose-driven world.
The NIMN said the conference will also provide a platform to examine how marketing can support sustainable business practices and deliver value across generations.
Speaking at the press briefing, the institute’s Registrar and Secretary to Council, Ms. Pat Sado, said that the conference will feature keynote speakers, panelists, and valuable networking opportunities, providing attendees with insights and practical strategies for aligning marketing with responsible innovation, digital transformation, and long-term societal impact,” the statement said.
“The AGM will also offer members a chance to review the Institute’s progress and shape its direction. As a professional body regulating the marketing profession in Nigeria, NIMN remains committed to upholding ethical standards, building capacity, and promoting excellence.
“The institute is confident that this year’s event will reinforce these values and position NIMN as a catalyst for transformation in the marketing landscape.”
Also speaking, chairman of the institute’s events and conference committee, Jelly Efedi, said the meeting will allow marketing professionals to connect and learn from one another.
“By attending the AGM, participants can gain valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in the marketing profession, as well as network with key stakeholders,” the chairman was quoted as saying.
He encouraged individuals and organisations to join the NIMN community at the event.
“The AGM will provide a platform for meaningful discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of the marketing profession,” Efedi added.
In his remarks, NIMN corporate services manager, Adewale Adeshina, said the institute will induct 95 associate members and 45 fellows.
On his part, NIMN former national president,
Anthony Agenmonmen, said the institute remains committed to developing skills, talent, and capabilities across teams, individuals, and organisations.
