TVC Communications Donates to Communities to Commemorate National Child Health Day
As part of its commemoration of the 2022 National Child Health Day, TVC Communications, owners of TVC News, TVC, Max FM (Lagos and Abuja) and Adaba FM has donated food and household items to the families of over a hundred and fifty children in Monkey Village, Ikeja.
According to a statement made available to THISDAY, it was noted that Palpably excited residents of the low-income community lined up to receive Children’s breakfast and other household items on the latest outreach by the Multimedia outfit marking this year’s celebration themed: “Healthy Child, Healthy Future.”
According to the Head of Corporate Communications, Public Relation and Digital for TVC Communications, Mabel Adeteye, it was revealed that the event is one more in a strong Corporate Social Responsibility tradition founded on Educational sustainability, Environmental sustainability and Child Health and Welfare.
“In accordance to our CSR initiatives one of which is Child Health and Welfare, it is important that we continue to show love and concern to our children, privileged and less so, who are the future of the nation,” she said.
In his remarks, a Facility and Logistics Specialist with the organisation, Yisa Oladosu, said: “It is what we invest in these children’s lives today that we can hope to reap in the future. By contributing to their health and wellness, we should expect a happy tomorrow.”
Among the many beneficiaries at Monkey Village expressing their gratitude, Monsurat Abolarin, looked forward to preparing nutritious breakfasts for her grandchildren to help sustain them through school days.
Adding his voice, Mesa Dew, a community leader at the village commended TVC Communications.
He said: “I thank TVC Communications for coming to show us love today. This items would go some way in providing nutrition for our children, as well as relieving the financial burden on we, the parents and guardians.”
According to UNICEF, 46 percent of Nigeria’s almost 200 million people are age 15 or under with 31 million under 5. While about 7 million babies are born each year, the country has the world’s 4th highest maternal mortality rate of 576 per 100,000 live births.
TVC Communications stated that it would continue to fulfill its commitment to improving the quality of life of less privileged persons and communities in line with Nigeria’s Sustainable Development Goal Number Three (SDG-3) of Good Health and Well-being.
