The Director General Peace and Good Governance Group(P3G) and Convener Youth Security Summit South East 2024, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani JP has commended the Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on his recent Award as The Governor of the Year in Nigeria 2024 by the Sun Newspaper.
Recall that few nights ago in Lagos, Governor Peter Mbah was honoured with the Sun Newspaper prestigious Award as the Governor of The Year in Nigeria 2024, based on so many factors anchored on Administrative performance.
In a Press Statement made available to the press, the Former SA on Culture and Tourism to the Former Governor of Enugu State Hon Diamond said that the following three major administrative performances are the yardsticks for Governor Mbah’s nominations and subsequent meritorious Award as the Country’s Governor of the Year 2024.
According to the former SA to former governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi noted that,
“Security: Governor Mbah demystified Insecurity in Enugu State and South East, South East in the sense that Enugu State is the Eastern Capital and whatever positively or negatively affects Enugu State affects other Eastern Regions. Therefore,the Popular SIT-AT-HOME endemic which hitherto dwindled the Eastern Economy and threatened Peace and Security of Enugu State and beyond was fought to a standstill by Governor Mbah without any record of casualty, and now, Monday businesses have returned to its formal status, tourism and adequate hospitality business are back and bubbling, normal night life returned as well, while people can go about their Monday businesses and at night sleep with their two eyes closed.
Speaking further on the next achievement Diamond said: “Water for over 20 years,Enugu State has had issue of lack of pipe born water but Governor Mbah broke this jinx and made an adventurous promise of giving Water to Ndi Enugu within 180 days. It was a pyrrhic achievement by his administration. He fulfilled this promise with practical and visible indices and water is now running in Enugu State.
In addition to the governor’s giant target to make Enugu State working and achieve target promises made to the people of Enugu, he said: “Road Construction – Unprecedentedly in a space of one year Governor Mbah has awarded over 1000 kilometers of road in Enugu State, Enugu Urban is taking more turn in this laudable project every nook and cranny of Enugu Urban is experiencing massive road construction, virtually all the roads within the city are undergoing constructions, rehabilitations and renovations according to its conditional demand with coren principle of quality assurance control. This glaring performances are visible to both the blind and opposition parties members who are now testifying publicly. His Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure is a perfect match for that portfolio, meaning that Gov Mbah has best Team in his Administration.
He also stressed other numerous projects of the Governor are highly commendable but the above three are historically unique and these have stood him out amongst others.
“These are factual achievements not political or media razzmatazz. Ndi Enugu are happy, we are very proud of him, we will support him to do more.”
He continued that If Governor Mbah continues this way his second term in office will be an easy ride for him. “He will win second tenure with ease if he continues this way.”
