President Bola Tinubu is meeting with members of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) made up of 36 state governors at the State House, Abuja ahead of his departure to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the African Union (AU) meeting later in the day.
The president’s meeting with the NGF, the second of its kind since he assumed office on May 29, 2023, is holding against the backdrop of escalating economic and security challenges in the nation.
The meeting holding at the Council Chambers, which is being attended by no fewer than 25 governors and deputy governors, also has in attendance Vice-President Kashim Shettima; Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS).
Also attending the meeting are Ministers of Agriculture; Information, and National Orientation, and that of the FCT, as well as the Chief of Staff to the President.
