Lawmaker Empowers 500 Women, Youths with Mechanized Farming Equipment

The Hon member representing Idah Federal Constituency of Kogi state, David Idris Zacharias has empowered 500 women and youths with mechanized farming equipment in Kogi state.

The training facilitated by the member was conducted by the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu in conjunction with Ojidoe-Ligne Engineering Company Limited

500 youths and women drawn from Ibaji, Idah, Igalamela/Idolu Federal Constituency of Kogi State
were empowered with Jacto 16 litres sprayer, NPK fertilizer and effective herbicides.

Hon. Zacharias informed that the choice of empowering over 500 of his constituency members were in fulfillment of some of his campaign promises to empower young people and women.

According to him “ This empowerment are in fulfillment of some of my campaign promises, to empower our youths and mothers, with the aim of alleviating poverty and creating a better standard of living for our people.”

“Mechanized farming will not only boost their productivity but will help address the current drudgery that has been ascribed to the youth in agriculture. The result of this is that the youths will not only do better in their work but will help boost the food production in Kogi state and subsequently Nigeria”.

This is not the first and will not be the last, we will continue to support our people and ensure the standard of living is boosted for all .

Also speaking for Ojidoe-ligne engineering company limited, the company rep, Mr Godwin Abuh expressed optimism that the training will be a game changer for participants.

“I am very optimistic that this training and empowerment initiative will increase the participant’s capacity yield in agro-business. I therefore urge them to take the empowerment seriously and give it their uttermost interest, as it could be their fortune-changer”.
