Firm Plans Longest Cooking Marathon to Break World Record

Premium restaurant and delivery service, FoodbyHilda has announced plans to break world record for the longest cooking marathon.

 Chief Executive Officer and Head Cook of the organisation, Hilda Baci explained that the cook-a-thon event is aimed at showcasing her culinary skills to the world, while putting the country on the global map.

According to her, the four-day event holding in Lekki Lagos will see to the making of over 250 recipes, which will be live-streamed on multi-social media channels for viewers globally. 

Speaking further on the event which kicks off April 28, Baci said, “The journey to the cook-a-thon started five years ago. It is one of our biggest aspirations and I am glad that we took the bold step to embark on this adventure.  We have taken time to prepare for this psychologically and I am proud to finally take on this challenge. 

“The cook-a-thon is also an opportunity to tell some of the positive stories that come from Africa through the meals that we make. This attempt is also proof of the strength young people can exhibit with the right platform and support.  I look forward to receiving support from people across the world to achieve this feat.’’

The current record for the world’s longest cooking marathon is held by Lata Tondon who completed the task in 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds in Rewa, India in 2019.

In addition to cooking, Baci who emerged winner of the Jollof Faceoff Competition in 2021 also trains and empowers young Nigerians through her online culinary classes.
