Gunmen have killed a private medical practitioner in Salka town of Magama local government of Niger state.
Dr Precious Chinnedu Emeka, the proprietor of a private medical facility in Salka town, was reportedly killed by the masked gunmen and his remains abandoned in the bush.
The six gunmen, according to reports, stormed the hospital of Precious at about 9pm demanding for him.
Immediately Precious was identified he was taken away only for his remains to be found in the bush the next day (Thursday).
it was said that a report was immediately sent to the police in the area but no action was taken.
A staff of the deceased said “When they took the Doctor away we reported to the police and the local vigilantes.
“The following day (Thursday afternoon) the vigilantes called us that they had seen a corpse inside the bush and we were able to identify it as that of our oga”
Calls made to the Niger State Police Command Public Relations Officer DSP Wasiu Abiodun for confirmation of the story were not responded to but the State chapter of the Ohaneze Ndigbo confirmed the story.
The President of the group Chief Emmanuel Ezeugo, described the killing of Precious as ‘very unfortunate’ and added that the ‘Igbo community is investigating the death of the medical practitioner.”
