PayWithPlay Launches CallGPT

Set to curb revenue Losses From missed Business Calls

Nigerian technology firm PayWithPlay has officially launched CallGPT, an AI-powered voice platform built to manage incoming phone calls for enterprises when human teams are busy, understaffed, or off duty.

In a statement, it was noted that it was unveiled at the PayWithPlay Keynote 2026 at Providus Bank’s headquarters rooftop in Victoria Island, Lagos, the technology tackles a critical operational drag on Nigerian businesses: lost revenue caused by unanswered calls.

Front-desk personnel and sales teams can typically handle only one caller at a time. During peak commercial hours or after working hours, line congestion often leads to dropped calls, unserviced enquiries, and lost sales before a business ever gets the chance to engage the prospective customer.

While global conversation around enterprise artificial intelligence has leaned heavily on text chatbots and digital web portals, CallGPT integrates conversational AI directly into conventional telephone networks.

Callers do not need to download an app, register, or switch to a messaging platform; they simply place a standard call to a company’s existing line.

CallGPT answers immediately, handling routine customer enquiries, taking bookings, and logging structured interaction data into corporate systems.

To ensure seamless adoption across Nigeria’s diverse consumer base, CallGPT comes with native multi-voice and multi-language support.

The system handles standard Nigerian English and Nigerian Pidgin out of the box, with built-in capabilities for regional languages—including Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, and Swahili—alongside global accents like US and UK English.

This allows a business to deliver localized, natural-sounding voice service whether serving local retail callers or international corporate partners.

The Chief Executive Officer, PaywithPlay, Jeffrey Okpaleke, said: “Every unanswered call can represent a lost opportunity. “We believe communication infrastructure should help businesses remain accessible to their customers, rather than making that accessibility dependent entirely on whether someone is available to answer the phone.”

For Nigerian corporates and SMEs looking to scale customer service without incurring massive overhead, CallGPT represents a practical bridge between telecommunications and generative AI.

By automating call resolution over traditional voice lines—which remain the preferred channel for commercial trust in Africa—businesses can maintain 24/7 responsiveness and protect their bottom line.

CallGPT is available immediately to commercial operators in Nigeria, with expansion plans targeting broader African and Middle Eastern markets.

To remove foreign exchange friction for local firms, pricing models are structured in local currency with seamless regional payment integration. Full enterprise tier details will be released in the coming weeks.
