Prof. Dr. Parin Somani and LOSD Launch A Book of Resilience at Harvard University

The power of storytelling, courage and the human spirit took centre stage at Harvard University as the London Organisation of Skills Development (LOSD) Publishing House launched its much-anticipated global anthology, A Book of Resilience, during the LOSD Skills Live Show 2026.

Held from August 14 to 16, the international gathering brought together authors, educators, academics, entrepreneurs, leaders, professionals and changemakers from around the world for a celebration of achievement, knowledge, personal transformation and human potential.

At the heart of the literary celebrations was A Book of Resilience, a collection featuring 40 authors from across the globe, each sharing a personal story of overcoming challenges, navigating adversity and finding strength through difficult chapters of life.

The anthology features the contributions of Prof. Dr. Parin Somani, Anna Lau, Vanessa Haripersad, Dr. Ignacio Bonasa Alzuria, Dr. Theresa A. Each author brings a distinctive perspective to the anthology, demonstrating that resilience can emerge in many forms. Their stories explore perseverance, personal growth, determination, transformation and the courage required to continue moving forward despite life’s challenges. Together, the chapters create a collective message of hope, showing that while adversity may shape a person’s journey, it does not have to define the future.

The Harvard launch became even more memorable as co-authors who were present at the event were formally honoured for their contributions to A Book of Resilience. The authors received recognition from an eminent group of dignitaries, including Chief Guest H.E. Baron Alec Stern, Inaugural Chief Guest Dr. William Selvamurthy, and Prof. Dr. Parin Somani, Founder and CEO of the London Organisation of Skills Development.

For the participating authors, being recognised at Harvard University represented a significant milestone, transforming their individual experiences into part of a collective international literary legacy. Their stories, brought together through LOSD Publishing House, demonstrate how personal experiences can become sources of encouragement and empowerment for readers facing challenges of their own.

The anthology was edited by Prof. Dr. Parin Somani, whose work through LOSD spans education, research, leadership development, humanitarian initiatives and publishing. As Founder and CEO of the London Organisation of Skills Development, Prof. Dr. Parin Somani has continued to promote opportunities for individuals to share knowledge, develop their potential and contribute to wider society.

Through A Book of Resilience, LOSD Publishing House has created more than a collection of chapters. The Harvard event provided an opportunity for authors and guests to reflect on the different ways people overcome adversity while celebrating the importance of storytelling in creating connections across cultures.

The literary celebrations did not end with A Book of Resilience. During the Harvard event, LOSD Publishing House also introduced its next international anthology, A Book of Love, opening an opportunity for authors and contributors from around the world to share stories centred on love and human connection.

The forthcoming publication will explore the many dimensions of love, including family, friendship, humanity, compassion, kindness, relationships, service and the people and experiences that give life meaning. The book is scheduled to be launched in Africa on Valentine’s Day in 2027, creating a fitting international celebration of love and human connection.

LOSD is inviting individuals from around the world to consider the stories they could share with future readers. These could include experiences of unconditional love, overcoming hardship through love, the influence of a special person, an act of kindness or an important lesson learned through relationships. The launch of A Book of Resilience at Harvard also forms part of LOSD Publishing House’s broader international literary journey. Both A Book of Resilience and A Book of Love were part of the wider initiative involving 1,572 authors who participated in a Guinness World Records attempt on July 26, 2026, for the Most Authors Signing Their Own Books Simultaneously.

The achievement represented more than a numerical milestone. It celebrated authorship, creativity, knowledge-sharing and the ability to bring people together through literature. The record-setting initiative further highlighted the commitment of LOSD and Prof. Dr. Parin Somani to creating platforms through which individuals can share their experiences, ideas and knowledge with a global audience.

As the Harvard celebrations concluded, one message remained clear: every person has a story, and the right story can inspire someone else to believe, persevere and move forward.
