Kebbi Gains More From Alignment With APC-Led FG, Says Gov Idris’ Aide

The Kebbi State Government has said Governor Nasir Idris’ support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is yielding direct benefits for the state across federal appointments, security, and agriculture.
In a statement issued yesterday by Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the Governor, Abdullahi Idris Sadaukin Zuru, said multi-party democracy gives Nigerians the sovereign right to choose their party and political direction.
He recalled that in the 2023 general elections, the people of Kebbi State voted decisively for Governor Idris under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, Governor Idris came into office with tested credentials in labour, trade unionism, and service to the people. He said that record, combined with the APC manifesto, earned the governor a landslide mandate to provide purposeful leadership.
Zuru said one of the key gains of the alignment with the centre is in federal appointments. He alleged that for years, Kebbi’s share of membership in federal boards and commissions was hijacked.
He stated that President Tinubu has reversed that trend and authorised Governor Idris to recommend credible, experienced, and selfless Kebbi indigenes for appointments. He added that the governor also has the president’s attention on cases of unjustified removal or denial of Kebbi indigenes in federal service.
On security, the aide said the federal government has acknowledged the state’s complementary support through logistics and financial assistance to security agencies fighting banditry in Kebbi.
He also cited agriculture as another area of gain. According to him, additional food and agricultural palliatives from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security have complemented the state government’s policy of annual distribution of free farming inputs to farmers.
Zuru argued that these developments show that Kebbi benefits most when it maintains a firm relationship with the APC at the centre.
“For this undisputable reason, Governor Nasir Idris has the moral and political duty to lead Kebbi in delivering massive votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027,” he said.
He, however, noted that every Nigerian retains the constitutional right to vote according to conscience and the track record of candidates.
“Today, Comrade Idris’s choice is paying off: unity across party lines, development in every sector. As we approach 2027, Governor Nasir Idris is calling on all APC members and lovers of progress in Kebbi to mobilize massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election. The centre is listening to Kebbi, and we must keep that door open,” the statement concluded.
