IFPD Strengthens Nigeria–Namibia Relations Through High-Level Diplomatic Engagement in Abuja
The International Forum for Peace and Diplomacy (IFPD), under the leadership of its Director General, Ambassador Adeniran Michael Timothy, recently led a high-level delegation on a diplomatic engagement visit to the Namibian High Commissioner in Abuja, Nigeria. The strategic meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Namibia in key sectors including Trade and Investment, Cultural Exchange, Tourism Development, and Diplomatic Relations.
The engagement forms part of IFPD’s broader vision of promoting peace, economic collaboration, sustainable development, and stronger African partnerships through diplomacy and strategic dialogue.
During the meeting, Ambassador Adeniran Michael Timothy emphasized the importance of intra-African cooperation and the need for African nations to build stronger economic and cultural ties capable of driving continental growth and prosperity. He noted that Nigeria and Namibia possess enormous untapped opportunities that can be harnessed through structured partnerships and mutual collaboration.
Discussions during the meeting highlighted areas of possible cooperation such as business exchange programs, investment opportunities, youth and cultural collaborations, tourism promotion, and diplomatic engagements that would foster stronger people-to-people relationships between both nations.
The IFPD delegation also reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote African unity, peacebuilding, economic empowerment, and international cooperation. The organization further expressed interest in facilitating platforms that would connect entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and cultural stakeholders from both countries.
Speaking during the engagement, Ambassador Adeniran Michael Timothy stated that Africa’s growth and stability depend largely on the ability of African institutions and governments to collaborate beyond borders and create sustainable partnerships that benefit their citizens.
The visit marks another significant step in IFPD’s continued diplomatic efforts across Africa, reinforcing its role as a leading platform for peacebuilding, diplomacy, trade facilitation, and international cooperation.
