DJ Chelsea Speaks on Working With Peter Psquare

International DJ Chelsea has opened up on how working with Mr P influenced a shift in her career, describing the experience as a defining moment in her journey.

Speaking after a recent performance, the Canadian DJ reflected on the impact of joining Mr P’s team as his international DJ.

“It changed my direction. It wasn’t just about playing sets anymore it made me think more globally, more intentionally.”

Known for her seamless fusion of Afrobeats, Amapiano, Dancehall, Hip Hop and R&B, DJ
Chelsea has steadily built a reputation for high-energy performances across Canada and Nigeria. Her role alongside Mr P has seen her perform across multiple countries, exposing her to wider audiences and different crowd dynamics.

“Working at that level forces you to understand people differently in different cities, different cultures, and different expectations. You have to adapt, but still stay true to your sound.”

Before stepping fully into the DJ space, Chelsea had already spent over a decade as a working actor, appearing in productions such as Snowpiercer and Supernatural. She is also a classically trained pianist, with over 20 years of experience through the Royal Conservatory program, a background she says continues to shape how she builds her sets.

Her growing presence has also seen her share stages with global artists including Burna Boy and Asake, further positioning her within the expanding global Afrobeats scene.

Despite the increasing visibility, DJ Chelsea maintains a measured approach to her rise.
“I’m still building. The focus is on consistency and the experience of making sure every set feels intentional.”

With continued performances across Nigeria and internationally, observers say her trajectory reflects a steady, deliberate expansion rather than a sudden breakout, a pattern that often defines long-term players in the industry.
