Aderibigbe Joins TIBA Advisory Board in Full Circle Moment

British-Nigerian lawyer, academic, and international consultant, Abiola Aderibigbe, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of The Iconic Brand Africa (TIBA), marking what he describes as “a full circle moment” in his professional journey.

The appointment follows Aderibigbe’s recognition in 2025 as one of TIBA’s Top 10 Exceptional Professionals of the Year in Law, an honour conferred at the organisation’s annual awards ceremony in November.

His elevation to the Advisory Board signals a deepening of his engagement with continental conversations around enterprise credibility, institutional leadership and governance reform.

Speaking on the appointment, Aderibigbe noted:
“It feels deeply symbolic. Last year, I was recognised among exceptional African leaders; today, I have the opportunity to contribute to shaping the standards and narratives that celebrate and strengthen African enterprise. That is profoundly meaningful.”

Aderibigbe, widely recognised for championing a proposed Nigerian Construction Act, is understood to have been nominated for the 2025 award in recognition of his sustained policy advocacy.

The proposed Act is a comprehensive reform initiative designed to strengthen regulatory oversight, institutionalise contractor grading, enhance payment security, elevate safety standards and modernise dispute resolution mechanisms within Nigeria’s construction sector.

The framework has been described as the first integrated legislative proposal of its kind publicly advanced in Nigeria.

Developed alongside his doctoral research, it seeks to embed transparency, competence and accountability directly into the architecture of infrastructure delivery systems.

Beyond his reform work, Aderibigbe holds multiple cross-border leadership roles. He serves as Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel and Board Secretary of PSJ UK, an international non-governmental organisation focused on peacebuilding, social justice and sustainable development initiatives connected to Nigeria.

He is also serves as General Counsel and Member of the Advisory Committee at the African Business Trade Association (ABTA) in London, where he advises on strategic trade, investment facilitation and institutional partnerships across African markets.

Academically, he is a Programme Leader and Course Director at Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom, where he leads postgraduate LLM programmes in International Construction Law and International Dispute Resolution.

His doctoral research examines adversarialism and statutory good faith within construction governance frameworks, with broader implications for regulatory reform and public infrastructure integrity.

Observers note that his appointment to the TIBA Advisory Board reflects a growing convergence between governance scholarship, professional standards and continental enterprise leadership.

By bringing regulatory insight into a platform traditionally focused on brand and business recognition, Aderibigbe’s role is expected to contribute to strengthening conversations around ethical leadership, institutional credibility and sustainable enterprise growth across Africa.

Founded as a Pan-African platform celebrating innovation and impact, TIBA has increasingly positioned itself at the intersection of enterprise excellence and governance standards.

For Aderibigbe, the moment carries personal resonance. “African excellence must be anchored not only in visibility, but in verifiable standards. If our institutions are strong, our enterprises will endure. That alignment between recognition and responsibility is what excites me about this role.”

His appointment takes effect immediately.
