The Police Service Commission (PSC) has advised state governments to show greater interest in the ongoing admission into the Nigeria Police Academy’s (POLAC) 12th Regular Course Degree Programme, in order to protect their respective quotas.

The Commission, in a statement issued on Monday, noted it will continue to stand for inclusivity in its management of police personnel.

The statement, signed by the Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, called for public understanding as the Commission restructures the system for better outcomes.

Ani also revealed the Commission had sent a strong delegation to Kano to superintend the screening and admission processes for the 2025 POLAC intake, which began in Wudil, Kano, on Monday, 6 October 2025.

He further disclosed that two Honourable Commissioners representing the Judiciary and the Nigeria Police Force at the Commission – Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (Rtd), a retired Justice of the Supreme Court, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (fdc) – led the high-powered delegation.

Ani recalled that the Commission had, a few days earlier, unveiled a Whistle-Blowing Policy on recruitment, and vowed to ensure that offenders involved in recruitment racketeering are brought to book.

The Commission also stated that it would use the ongoing POLAC admission exercise to test-run the whistle-blowing policy and would deal decisively with any person found culpable, no matter how highly placed.

Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu Rtd, appealed to all parties participating in the POLAC screening to play by the rules, in order to avoid facing the wrath of the Commission.

The Chairman reiterated the Commission is poised to sanitise police recruitment across the country – including admissions into POLAC – so that the Nigeria Police Force can take pride in the calibre of candidates produced.

He assured that the Commission would continue to engage all relevant stakeholders in its pursuit of a transparent, clean, and credible recruitment process.
