If Not Now, When? — IYDF Rallies Youth to Register and Lead in 2027 Elections
The Inspire Youth Development Foundation (IYDF) has taken a bold step towards empowering the next generation with the official launch of its Youth Mandate 2027 program. The initiative was unveiled during a well-attended Roundtable Stakeholders Meeting, where young voices came together to deliberate on strategies to drive voter registration and meaningful participation of Nigerian youth in the forthcoming 2027 elections.
The meeting served as a platform for open dialogue on the role of youth in governance, the importance of unity across party lines and the need for consistent political education. Attendees underscored that while Nigerian youth represent the majority of the nation’s population, they have often been underrepresented in political decision-making.
In his remarks, the founder of IYDF, Rabiu Hassan Lawal, delivered a strong call to action, urging young people to take responsibility for shaping the nation’s future.
“It is time for Nigerian youth to step forward. If not now, when? 2027 must not meet us unprepared. We must register, we must vote, and some of us must even contest,” he declared.
The gathering concluded with a shared commitment to expand the youth network nationwide, emphasizing unity, innovation and collective responsibility as the tools for transforming Nigeria’s political landscape.
IYDF announced that more details of the Youth Mandate 2027 initiative will be shared in the coming weeks, including mobilization campaigns, awareness drives and opportunities for youth engagement across the country.
