King Appolus Chu Wins Appeal Court Case Against Chief Bebe Okpabi Over Oneh Eh Nchia Stool

On June 13, 2025 , the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Judicial Division, reaffirmed His Royal Highness King Dr. Appolus Chu as the legitimate Oneh Eh Nchia the X of Eleme Kingdom.

In a judgment delivered by Honourable Justice A. M. Talba on Friday, June 13, 2025, the court upheld the earlier ruling of the High Court of Rivers State, which had declared King Appolus Chu the authentic Oneh Eh Nchia the X of Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The appellate court dismissed all six grounds of appeal filed by Chief Bebe Okpabi under Appeal No. CA/PH/370/2023, describing the case as lacking merit.
The judgment effectively solidifies the royal authority of King Appolus Chu and brings a legal end to the prolonged dispute over the Oneh Eh Nchia stool.
