2027: Group Rally Diaspora, National Support for Gov. Otu

A Socio-Political group known as Cross Riverians 4 Bassey Otu Support Group has conferred Executive Patronship on Governor Bassey Edet Otu, in recognition of his impeccable developmental track record and commitment to transforming the state.
During a solidarity visit to Government House, Calabar, the group pledged to rally greater support for the Governor’s reelection in 2027 and promote his policies and achievements to residents and the diaspora community.
The group’s action, its said, is based on the governor’smpeccable developmental track record that has impacted lives of ordinary person in the State as it reaffirmed its commitment to his leadership and vision for the overall development of the State.
Speaking during their visit to Government House, Calabar recently, before the installation, the National Coordinator of Cross Riverians 4 Bassey Otu, Obonganwan Gnarly Eyo, disclosed that the gesture underscores the group’s admiration for the Governor’s innovative initiatives and their confidence in his ability to drive progress in the State.
She further disclosed that the support group whose mission is to enlighten residents about the Governor’s policies and their positive impact on the community with the view to foster deeper appreciation for the progress being made, to promote active participation in the State’s developmental strides is planning a grand rally on May 30, 2025 in Calabar.
In her words, Your Excellency, your installation as Executive Patron is a significant honor for this support group. It reflects our recognition of your dedication to the State’s development and our desire to work closely with you to achieve the shared vision of transforming Cross River state.
“We are on course to propagate your remarkable achievements and rapid development that has transformed the socio-economic landscape of Cross River as anchored in a developmental philosophy known as Otuism.
“Otuism here represents the new era governance model and philosophy where power is placed in the hands of the citizenry and development is taken to the most marginalized and neglected communities in the State and that’s the reason we queueing behind this vision that we believe will transform the State Sir.
“Our movement with over 20,000 active members both here in the State and in the Diaspora with patrons in the UK, America, Europe , Asia and Africa as well as some States in Nigeria is a demonstration of our solidarity with the governor and our commitment to supporting his efforts to transform Cross River State, she added.
In his response, Cross River State Governor, Prince Bassey Edet Otu who was visibly excited about the gesture appreciated the leadership and members of the group on his conferment as their Executive Patron and promised to work with them to achieve their set goals.
The Governor maintained that, “As a State, our mandate is to ensure that we build the capacity of our people to improve on their living conditions.
“What you are doing is a good cause and I must say that God will bless you for this level of sacrifice and support to our administration in the development of our dear State and our people.
“I assure you that we will continue to work together to serve our people better,” Governor Otu added.
