PANDEF: We’re Alarmed By Declaration of State Emergency in Rivers

The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has said it is alarmed by the State of Emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu in Rivers State.

Reacting to the declaration which suspended the state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara; his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the state House of Assembly for six months; the National Spokesperson of PANDEF, Dr Obiuwevbi Ominimini, said the group was alarmed by the state of emergency on an avoidable crisis.

He stated “PANDEF is seriously alarmed by the state of emergency declared in Rivers State due to a crisis that is ordinarily avoidable”.
He added that the group was studying the situation and would soon come up with its position.
