NAOWA Donates Relief Items to Wives of Fallen Heroes, Others

As part of the activities marking this year’s Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Obienu Barracks Chapter, Bauchi, has donated food, cash and clothing materials to some widows of fallen heroes at the barracks.
The army officers’ wives also donated relief items to Children of Ambassador M. C. Abubakar Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Vocational College, Bauchi.
Presenting the items on behalf of the association at the headquarters of the Nigerian Army Armoured Corp (NAAC), Bauchi, the Acting Coordinator of the NAOWA, Mrs. Rifkatu Audu, said that the aim was to cushion the plights of the widows.
Audu said eight of them whose husband’s died between January and June this year were selected, stressing that the event was organised for the wives of the fallen heroes at the barracks to empower them and alleviate their sufferings.
She thanked the Chief of Staff of the Corp, Brigadier General S.T Audu, who represented the commander and the deputy commandant, Nigerian Army Armoured School, Brigadier General S.T. Akpan, for their support and encouragement.
She pledged that the NAOWA would continue to play their role as mothers to support and encourage their husbands, wives of officers and soldiers.
In their separate remarks, Brigadier General Audu, commended the association for the gesture and promised to them support at all times.
