EFCC Declares Former Katsina Governor, Shema Wanted

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has the former governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema, wanted over diversion of funds.

In a released signed by the spokesman of the commission, Wilson Uwujaren,
This was contained in a public notice signed by the Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren,informing members of public about the development.

Uwujaren said Shema was first invited in December 2015 for questioning without success.
He announced that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain has since ignored all invitations extended to him.

According to him, “The former governor is wanted for alleged criminal conspiracy, inflation of contract, abuse of office, diversion of funds and embezzlement running into billions of naira.”
