The Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has said irrespective of political affiliations, the lawmakers at the National Assembly have resolved to work together for the development of the country.

He noted that nationhood and belief in one country will put Nigeria on the right path. He therefore pledged to work with other National Assembly members to achieve this goal.

Tambuwal stated this at his residence in Sokoto while donating rice and cash to 30,000 households across the 23 local governments of the state as a Ramadan package.

“We will work together. While we consider the affairs of this country, the nationhood and the belief in one country will put us on the right path,” he stated.

The former Governor of Sokoto State explained that this period was unique because it’s Ramadan period and a lenting season, urging Nigerians to pray for the nation.

The former speaker of the House of Representatives further explained that the provision of food items and cash to the people was to cushion the effect of economic hardship.

Senator Tambuwal expressed his commitment to the well-being of his people saying, “Ramadan is a holy month of service, sacrifice and sharing as he prays that these items would complement the efforts of others in assisting those that need the support”.

On the issue of insecurity in the state, he stressed that, security was the collective responsibility of everyone.

He explained that he had scheduled to meet with the service chiefs so that they will step up their onslaught against the bandits terrorising people in the state.

On his part, the chairman of Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in the State, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Goronyo thanked Senator Tambuwal for the gesture .

Goronyo stated that senator Tambuwal was a man with large heart urging others to emulate him.

He said that the time was right for the party to begin to play its role as a party in opposition in the state.
