In a strategic move to bolster rural economies and foster sustainable growth, the Katsina State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Dikko Radda, has thrown its weight behind the Alternative Bank’s innovative financial solutions. This collaboration signals a significant milestone for the Alternative Bank as it launches its inaugural branch in the state, poised to make a meaningful impact on local businesses and communities.
Governor Dikko Radda underscored the imperative of poverty alleviation, particularly in rural areas, urging the Alternative Bank to join forces with the state government in tackling this pressing challenge. Representing the Governor, Malik Anas, Special Adviser on Banking, expressed confidence in the bank’s potential to drive economic development in the region.
“One of our aims as a government is to enhance the growth of our people, especially those in rural areas. We seek the cooperation of the Alternative Bank in this area. We are ready to give the necessary support to the bank to forge ahead and contribute to the economic development of Nigeria,” stated Anas.
Dr. Abdulmumin Usman, the Emir of Katsina, echoed sentiments of confidence in the Alternative Bank’s initiatives, laying the groundwork for a collaborative partnership between the financial institution and the local Katsina community.
Hajiya Fatimah Radda, the governor’s wife, highlighted the importance of inclusivity in the bank’s corporate social responsibility efforts, particularly emphasizing support for vulnerable groups such as widows and orphans.
“The majority of people in the local governments of Katsina are largely unbanked, presenting a massive untapped opportunity for the bank to make a difference,” noted Mrs. Radda.
Alhaji Garba Mohammed, the Executive Director of the Alternative Bank, reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to providing financial empowerment for all customers, irrespective of their socio-economic status. He emphasized the bank’s commitment to efficient, technology-driven services aimed at facilitating customer and national growth.
“The Alternative Bank is a bank with a difference. Apart from being a non-interest bank, we promise our customers prompt, loyal, efficient, and technologically driven services. We also promise to promote financial empowerment among our customers, irrespective of their status,” asserted Mohammed.
