AFCON 2023: Enoh Hails Super Eagles for Promise Kept Over Cote d’Ivoire

Sports Minister, Senator John Owan Enoh, has described Super Eagles’ victory over hosts, Cote d’Ivoire, in the ongoing 34th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as promise kept and urged the senior national team to continue in that path until success is achieved with Nigeria winning the trophy on the final day of the tournament.

Enoh, who in his earlier goodwill message to the team before the match, reminded Super Eagles they had the backing of President Bola Tinubu to go and conquer all the other 23 teams and bring home the trophy, said they have done well defeating Cote d’Ivoire right in front of their president and almost 60,000 citizens inside the Stade Alassane Ouattara in Abidjan.

Enoh’s message on X (formerly Twitter) Thursday read: “Dear @NGSuperEagles you promised Nigerians an improved game.

With every training and every meeting, you were sold out on winning today’s match. Your victory today is commendable, defeating the host nation is a good sign. The President and football-loving people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are all rooting for you to stay victorious until the end. We all believe in you, It’s in you to win all through. Keep winning through all stages and bring home the trophy. We have done it before and we can do it again. Let’s do it again! Congratulations to our National team.”
