Worried by the current economic hardship in the country, Sola Saraki Educational Foundation has awarded scholarships to 20 medical students in the nation’s tertiary institutions.

The foundation, however, said the gesture would go a long way to boost the education of the beneficiaries and will also immortalise the name of the late former Senate Leader, Dr. Olusola Saraki.

Speaking in Ilorin on Saturday during the second annual presentation of a letter of scholarship to the students in Ilorin, the secretary of the foundation, Alhaji Ladi Hassan, said the gesture was also to give back to society to add more value to the educational development of the populace.

Hassan stated, “The late Olusola Saraki is a man of honour, a distinguished personality in the medical world and an eminent politician who has raised the bar of the educational and well-being of the populace. We decided to sustain his legacy and be up and doing to move the education forward in the populace, and we will continue to sustain the legacy.”

Responding on behalf of the awardees, Miss Biliqis Biola Olatinwo lauded the foundation’s gesture. She said the support would go a long way to boost their academic performances.
