NIGCOMSAT, Yahclick to Deepen Broadband Penetration in Africa

The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd and Yahclick, a subsidiary of Yahsat, operators of Mubadala communications satellite of United Arab Emirate, have partnered to deepen broadband penetration in Nigeria and Africa at large.

The Chief Executive Officer, NIGCOMSAT, Tukur Mohammed Lawal, who spoke about the partnership while receiving the Yahclick Vice- President and Director, sub-Saharan Africa, Mr. Kevin Viret in his office recently, said he was pleased with the bouquet of services in the Yahclick business model.

Lawal assured the visiting team that NIGCOMSAT would be willing to tap into the services collaboratively, noting that the bouquet of business services presented to NIGCOMSAT Ltd is capable of becoming the turning point for the company.

He explained that the two satellite companies would work together to take advantage of the available market in the country and the entire sub-Saharan Africa as a whole.

Vice President of Yahclick and Director (Africa) in company of the Regional Manager, West Africa, Mr. Attah  Abiodun, expressed happiness on the warm reception accorded to them.

Viret, while assuring NIGCOMSAT Management on the services to collaborate on, he maintained that the services were on flexible technology capacity of complimenting areas where NIGCOMSAT cannot reach, adding that the two teams will work on pricing and billing with the aim of ensuring a workable collaborative efforts.

“We can reach blind spots which NIGCOMSAT spot beam cannot reach,” he explained.
