A’Ibom Gov Challenges Permanent Secretaries to Work Towards Actualising  Vision

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has challenged permanent secretaries in the state government employ to work for the actualisation of the vision of his government as captured in the blueprint of his administration, ‘the ARISE Agenda’.

The governor posed the challenge during  his maiden meeting with the permanent secretaries at the State Executive Council Chambers in Government House, Uyo.

Presenting the ARISE Agenda through the state Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, Eno directed that henceforth, memos from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are to reflect the plans of the government as captured in the agenda in various sectors.

According to the governor, the idea is to ensure that programmes of the present administration and campaign manifesto are actualised in every step of the administration.

He charged the ministries on the need to be proactive in updating the public on activities of government as they relate to their departments.

The governor assured the state on the establishment of Entrepreneurial and Leadership Institute to serve as a business school as well as setting up businesses for the people of the state.

Eno insisted that as public servants, they are duty bound to inform and educate the masses on programmes of the government.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. James Edet, said the meeting provided the opportunity for the permanent secretaries to brief the governor on the programmes of the government and received directions for proper takeoff of the new administration.

Edet said the governor harped on the need for the state to engage more investment analysts to guide government’s projections on areas of investment.
