Akinwunmi Ambode is Back … Celebrates Mother’s 90th Birthday in Epe

Life at 90 is always worth celebrating. Former Lagos Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has resurfaced on the social whirl on account of the celebration of his mother, Christianah Ambode’s 90th birthday. Seen felicitating among his siblings, the former mover and shaker of the Center of Excellence has not lost his charm, enduring brilliance, and the bright spark in his eyes that moved ordinary people to cast their votes in his favour a few years ago. Will he remain in the public eye this time? That is the question.

It was a happening ceremony a few days ago at Epe. The hometown of Ambode once again bore witness to the impressiveness of his stature as he brought excitement to the heart of the people around him. With his siblings around him, Mr. Akinpelumi Ambode, Mrs. Kehinde Onigbanjo, Mrs. Taiwo Adeniran, and Mrs. Akinfemi Amode, St. Michael Anglican Church, Epe, was saturated with the strong presence of an ecstatic and carefree Ambode.

Naturally, Ambode had many others around him apart from his siblings. It is no secret that the man is immeasurably fond of his mother, always finding excuses to celebrate her. Thus, her 90th birthday was not allowed to pass by without banging the drums of jollification. Nevertheless, the occasion afforded people the opportunity to see Ambode after quite a while.

It has to be said that absence does make the heart grow fonder. Ambode’s exit from gubernatorial power in 2019 was accompanied by much speculation, a large fraction painting the Epe man in a negative light. However, in the time since, the people of Lagos have come to understand him better and might even be considering granting him a second shot at leadership.

But whether Ambode wants to go on another trip in the gubernatorial river is something that remains unclear. What is certain at the moment is that his presence sure has a strong effect on the hearts of the people and it is a good thing to have him in the limelight once again.
