PDP Candidate Wins Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency Election in Bayelsa
Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Rodney Ambaiowei has been declared winner of the Southern Ijaw federal constituency election, after a supplementary poll conducted in six wards and thirty polling units in Southern Ijaw Council Area of Bayelsa State.
The result was announced by Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor, Chris Onyema at INEC’s Headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

APC’s Nasiru Idris Wins Kebbi Governorship Poll
All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Dr Nasiru Idris, has been declared the winner of the supplementary governorship election in Kebbi State.
Idris, who is the President of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), polled 409,225 votes to defeat his closest rival, Maj. Gen. Aminu Bande (rtd) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 360,940 votes.

Labour Party Elects Okeme as Kogi Guber Candidate

A legal practitioner and prominent businessman, Mr Adejo Okeme, has been elected as the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate for the November 2023 Kogi State gubernatorial poll.
Okeme polled 127 votes to defeat his closet rival, AVM Isaac Alfa, who scored 69 votes at the primary held on Saturday in Lokoja, the state capital.
Prior to the commencement of the election, Okeme had told journalists that tackling unemployment and prompt salary payment would top the list of his priority projects if given the chance to become the governor of the state in January 27, 2024.
He also said that his administration would not joke with security without which no business can thrive anywhere.
“I am a businessman and I know full well that you need a conducive atmosphere for businesses to thrive and therefore, I will not joke with the issue of the state,” he said.

Abejide Emerges as Kogi ADC Guber Candidate

The House of Representatives member representing Yagba federal constituency, Leke Abejide, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The ADC primary, which held peacefully across the 239 wards of the 21 local government areas of the state, had its collation centre at the Idri Nana Hotel, Lokoja, the state capital.
The direct primary election was supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials from the state and its national headquarters with the presence of security agents.
One Mrs Magdalene Aku represented the INEC chairman at the primary, while Sadiq Zakaye and one other official represented the INEC office in the state.
While announcing the results, the National Collation Officer of the party, Dr Babalola Ajadi, said out of the 9,584 total votes cast, Abejide polled 9,456 votes, while 128 votes were recorded as invalid.
Ajadi said having scored the highest valid votes and the only contestant in the primary, Abejide is declared the winner of the primary and ADC candidate in the November 11 governorship election.
Speaking after his emergence, Abejide promised to prioritize education, workers’ welfare, security and infrastructural development if elected governor of the state in November.
He promised to make his detailed manifesto available to all Kogi electorate in the next few weeks.
The House of Representatives member pledged to upscale his special education intervention scheme by paying WAEC fees for all students in the 21 LGAs in the state.
He explained that one of the drivers of insecurities in the state is the continued haphazard payment of salaries in the state which he said he will rectify if elected.

INEC Releases Results of Supplementary Elections in Bayelsa
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Rodney Ambaiowei of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as winner of the Southern-Ijaw Federal Constituency supplementary election in Bayelsa State.
According to the result declared by the returning officer, Prof. Christopher Onyema, the PDP candidate, Ambaiowei, polled a total of 13,992 votes to defeat the incumbent member of the House of Representatives, Preye Oseke, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 12,992 votes.
Also, INEC declared the APC candidate, Godknows Obein, as winner of the Ogbia Constituency 2 supplementary election into the Bayelsa House of Assembly.
The result declared by the Returning Officer, Prof. Johnson Ohakwe, indicates that Obein registered 5,291 votes to defeat incumbent legislator, Munalayefa Gibson, of the PDP, who had 4,342 votes.
With the outcome, the PDP will be having 17 seats in the seventh Bayelsa House of Assembly, while the APC will be having five and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has two. (NAN)

APC Retains Gumel Federal Constituency Seat in Jigawa
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Mr Sani Nazifi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Saturday’s supplementary election.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Nazifi, who represents Gumel-Gagarawa-Suletankar-Maigatar Federal Constituency, won the seat for the second time.
Prof. Ahmed Baita, the Returning Officer, on Sunday in Gumel, declared Nazifi as the winner of the election.
Baita said Nazifi polled 49,893 votes to defeat his main rival, Ahmed Habu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 46,537 votes.
“Sani Nazifi of APC having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared winner and returned elected,” the returning officer said.
Similarly, Baita also declared the candidate of the APC, Mr Ishaq Tasiu, as winner of the Saturday’s supplementary election for the state Assembly seat of Dutse Local Government Area.
Prof. Ahmed Shehu, the Returning Officer, said Tasiu scored 31,311 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Adamu Alhaji of PDP, who polled 28,656 votes, while Umar Nura of NNPP got 792 votes.
Similarly, INEC also declared the candidate of the APC for the Yankwashi Local Government State Assembly supplementary election, Muhammad Ado, as the winner of the election.
The Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Abdulhamid Adamu, said Ado polled 9,479 votes to defeat the candidate of the PDP, Abdullahi Karkarna, who polled 5,606 votes and Haruna Babangida of NNPP, who polled 300 votes. (NAN)

Tambuwal Emerges Sokoto South Senator-elect
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has won the Sokoto South Senatorial election.
Tambuwal, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, defeated All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Ibrahim Danbaba Dambuwa, who is the incumbent lawmaker.
Tambuwal polled 100,860 votes while Danbaba polled 95,884 votes.
Tambuwal, a two term governor, served as speaker of the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015, when he was elected governor of Sokoto state.
He was reelected as governor in 2019. The 57-year-old politician began his political career in 2003 when he contested for the Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency seat. He won the election and subsequent elections in 2007 and 2011, representing the constituency until 2015 when he was elected governor of Sokoto.

Breaking: INEC Suspends Collation of Results in Adamawa, Says Binani’s Declaration as Winner Null and Void

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the collation of results of the supplementary election in Adamawa state.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Hudu Yunusa, had earlier declared Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani, as the winner of the Adamawa Governorship election.
But INEC National Commissioner, and Chairman Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, in a statement issued Sunday described the action of the REC as a usurpation of the power of the Returning Officer.
The commission described Binani’s declaration as null, void and of no effect.
The commission, therefore summoned REC, Returning Officer and all involved to the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja immediately.
Okoye said: “The attention of the Commission has been drawn to a purported declaration of winner in the Adamawa Governorship election by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) even when the process has clearly not been concluded.
“The action of the REC is a usurpation of the power of the Returning Officer. It is null, void and of no effect. Consequently, the collation of results of the supplementary election is hereby suspended.
“The REC, Returning Officer and all involved are hereby invited to the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja immediately.”

Breaking: INEC Disowns Adamawa REC over Declaration of APC’s Binani as Winner of Guber Poll
The Independent National Electoral Commission has disowned the Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yinusa, for declaring All Progressives Congress candidate, Senator Aishatu Binani, as the winner of the supplementary governorship election.
In a statement by its National Commissioner, Information and Voter Education, Mr Festus Okoye, INEC said its attention had been drawn to the purported declaration of Binani as winner by the REC, even when the process had not been concluded.
It added that the action of the REC was an usurpation of the powers s of the state returning officer and was therefore null, void and of no effect.

Just In: Confusion as INEC REC Declares APC’s Binani Winner of Adamawa Guber Poll
There is confusion about the outcome of the Adamawa governorship Supplementary Elections following the declaration of the candidate of the All Progressives Congrees, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani, as the winner of the election by the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state, Barrister Hudu Yunusa.
As at 1am Sunday, INEC had adjourned collation till 11am to enable the arrival of results from 10 local government areas. However, at about 8am on Sunday, three hours before the scheduled resumption of collation, the REC, accompanied by security operatives, arrived the collation centre and invited journalists around to join him for an address.
Despite not being the state returning officer, constitutionally mandated to declare outcome of governorship election, he was said to have brought out a paper from his pocket and declared the APC candidate, Binani, winner of the election.

PDP’s Dasuki Wins Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency Seat in Sokoto
Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Abdussamad Dasuki, has won the Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency supplementary election in Sokoto polling 47,317 votes.
Dasuki was declared winner of the election Sunday morning.
He defeated the incumbent representative and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Hon Kokani Bala Kebbe, who scored 34,282 votes.
Dasuki, a former commissioner of Finance in Sokoto, represented the Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency from 2015 to 2019 during which he chaired the House Committee on Navy.

PDP Wins Gokana/Khana Federal Constituency in Rivers
The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the Gokana/Khana Federal constituency in Rivers state, Dumnamene Dekor winner of the supplementary election held in the constituency on Saturday after polling 18,641 votes.
The Local government election returning officer, Professor Kingsley Owute declared Dekor winner at the INEC’s council office in Bori, the headquarters of Khana LGA.
Dekor beat his second distance runner up, Friday Nke’ee of the Social Democratic Party who polled 10,165 votes.

The candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Afam Victor Ogene, has been declared winner of the House of Representatives election in Anambra State.

INEC Begins Collation of Adamawa Governorship Supplementary Election Results
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced collation of the governorship supplementary election results held on Saturday.
Speaking at the commencement of the exercise in Yola, Prof. Mohammed Mele, the state Collation Officer, said the results of Demsa and Yola-South Local Government Areas were ready.
Mele urged the local government returning officers and the party agents to abide by the process for successful collation.
Dr Baba Bila, the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Adamawa, Gombe and Taraba States, announced that each political party would be represented by only one agent.
Bila explained that the collation process required that the local government returning officers must first register with the secretariat, get results verified before presenting to state collation officer loudly.
He called on them to also be patient with the process for a successful collection of the results.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the elections were held in 69 polling units across 20 local government areas in the state.
Results from Demsa, Yola South, Yola North and Lamurde Local Government Areas have been collated as at press time. (NAN)

LP Wins Oji River Constituency Election in Enugu
The Labour Party (LP) has won the just-concluded Oji River State Constituency Supplementary Election, held on Saturday.
The election was held at Oji-River Central School Polling Unit, Registration Area/Ward 11, which had 2,489 registered voters.
INEC had declared and returned LP’s candidate, Chief Osita Eze, winner of the supplementary election with 108 votes (at the supplementary election) and already with over 300 votes outstanding (during the March 18 election) ahead of other contestants.
Eze defeated the incumbent, Chief Jeff Mba, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 118 votes (at the supplementary election).
Reacting, Dr Mcginger Ibeneme, Spokesperson, Labour Party, Enugu State, said that it was a hard-fought victory for Oji River people as well as the beginning of their total political emancipation.
Ibeneme said that the people of Oji River and by extension the good people of Enugu State had clearly affirmed that they want genuine change and people-centred representation that would carry everybody along.
“We were brutalised and were not allowed to even campaign for the supplementary election by thugs, even as I was singled out and brutalised during the supplementary election, yesterday, as some of the opposition saw me as the leader of the political tsunami in Oji River.
“Our people and supporters were also intimidated by some thugs and misguided security agents working for the PDP but they stood their ground and stuck out their necks waiting for the worst. But at last, Oji River people are liberated,” he said.
He said that the people of Oji River are currently celebrating the victory of Labour Party, the party of hope and genuine change, won in all five elections in the council area, starting from the President, Senate, House of Representative, Governorship and now State House of Assembly. (NAN)

Wammakko Wins Sokoto North Senatorial Election
Senator representing Sokoto north Senatorial District and former Governor of Sokoto state Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of the All Progressives Congress APC has been declared winner of the Senatorial election for the Sokoto North Senatorial district after the collation of result of the Saturday supplementary election.
Wamakko who polled a total of 141,468 to defeat his closest rival Deputy Governor Muhammad Manir Dan’Iya of the Peoples Democratic Party, who garnered a total votes of 118,445.
Wamakko, a former governor, was first elected Senator in 2015 and reelected in 2019.

APC Wins Sanga Constituency Seat in Kaduna
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Mr Haliru Dangana of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Saturday’s rerun election for House of Assembly Sanga constituency seat.
INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Umaru Musa declared the result in Gwantu.
Musa said that Dangana polled 13, 883 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mrs Comfort Amwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 13, 275 votes.
“Haliru Dangana of the APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law by scoring the highest votes is hereby declared the winner,” he said. (NAN)

APC Wins Kankia Constituency Seat in Katsina
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Salisu Rimaye of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Saturday’s supplementary election for Kankia constituency of Katsina State.
INEC Returning Officer, Dr Kamaluddeen Kabo of the Federal University, Dutsinma declared the result in Kankia.
Kabo said that Rimaye scored 18, 157 votes to beat Abdullahi Ibrahim of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 16, 763 votes.
He said the total numbers of registered voters was 78, 224, while 37, 030 were accredited and the total valid vote was 35, 037, while 511 were rejected votes, while the total votes cast was 35, 548.
“I Dr Kamaladdeen Kabo, the Returning officer, Kankia, State Constituency election, held on the April 15, 2023.
“Hereby satisfy that Salisu Rimaye of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the poling units were the supplementary election was conducted included Galadima A, Galadima B, Tsa and Rimaye wards, each had one polling unit, while Tafashiya ward had two.

PDP’s Kabiru Wins Birnin Kudu State Constituency Seat in Jigawa
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of PDP for Birnin Kudu Constituency, Mr Ibrahim Kabiru, as winner in the House of assembly supplementary election in Jigawa State.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Usman Haruna of the Federal University Dutse, declared Kabiru as winner in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area on Saturday.
He said Kabiru polled 36,050 votes to beat his closest rival and the incumbent of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Muhammad Surajo, who polled 34,545 votes.
Haruna said that Muhammad Yakubu of ADC scored 283 votes, Halilu Aliyu of ADP scored 117 votes, Ahmad Abdullahi of LP scored 17 votes, Sulaiman Abdullahi of NNPP scored 722 votes, Musa Mahmud of PPP scared 460 votes and Shuaibu Basiru of SDP scored 14 votes.
“That Ibrahim Kabiru of PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared winner and returned elected,” the returning officer said. (NAN)

The Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Suleiman Gummi has been declared winner of the Supplementary elections conducted for Gummi- Bukkuyum Federal Constituency in Zamfara State,
The PDP candidate Suleiman Gummi polled 35,664 votes to defeat his closest challenger candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmad Gummi who scored 35, 058 votes.
The returning officer of the 2023 Gummi- Bukkuyum Supplementary elections Dr. Lawal Saad declared the PDP Candidate Suleiman Gummi winner, having scored the highest number of votes and satisfied the requirements of the law and is hereby returned elected.
The Supplementary election of Gummi – Bukkuyum Federal constituency was declared inconclusive due to overvoting and violence at some polling units.INEC consequently rescheduled the supplementary election to 15th April.
Suleiman Gummi is a serving member of the House of Representatives and one of those who refused to defect along side with Governor Bello Mohammed to the APC and remained in the PDP with former Deputy Governor Mahdi Gusau.

INEC Declares APC Winner of Giwa Assembly Seat in Kaduna
The independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Awwal Umar of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the supplementary election for Giwa West House of Assembly seat in Kaduna State.
INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Maryam Suleiman declared the results in Giwa on Saturday.
Sulaiman said that Umar scored 15,603 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bello Mu’azu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 14,897 votes.
“Having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes, Awwal Umar of the APC is returned elected,” she said.
INEC had declared March 18 election as inconclusive following irregularities discovered in Galadimawa and kidandan Wards, leading to Saturday’s supplementary election.(NAN)

APC Wins Ekiti Assembly Seat
INEC has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ido-Osi Constituency 1, Mr Babatunde Fawekun, as winner in the House of assembly supplementary election held on Saturday.
The commission’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity in Ekiti, Mr Temitope Akanmu, made the result public in a statement he issued in Ado-Ekiti.
Akanmu stated that Fawekun polled 4,674 votes to beat his closest rival from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mr Ishola Fadahunsi, who polled 4,202 votes.
He added that seven political parties fielded candidates in the election.
Mr Abiodun Olorunda of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) scored 203 votes, while Mr Gbenga Olubobade of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) scored 80 votes.
Mr Ayodele Awoniyi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 422 votes, he stated
Two female contestants, Mrs Blessing James of the Labour party (LP), scored 35 votes, while Mrs Tosin Obafemi of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) scored 19 votes.
INEC cancelled results obtained in three polling units in Ido-Osi Constituency 1 at the March 18 election because of violence and fixed April 15 for the supplementary election. (NAN)

INEC Cancels Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency Rerun in Akwa Ibom
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cancelled the Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency rerun election in Akwa Ibom due to violence.
The state INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Dr Cyril Omorogbe, said this when he addressed newsmen in his office in Uyo on Saturday.
Omoregbe said the election was cancelled in all the 17 polling units as a result of reported snatching of election materials, including Bi-Modal Voters Accreditation Machine System (BIVAS) and others
“I just want to give a brief update on what has happened today, in the case of the rerun election.
“The fact is that we had about four Local Government Areas (LGAs) where we conducted election and one major one was of them was the Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency
“We were there this morning early enough at about 8:30 a.m, polling units were opened. A couple of hours after we opened the polls, I received a call that BIVAS machines were hijacked.
“So, I knew from then that we were in for a tough time. Two hours after that, I received another report that was not good. So, the rerun election in Ikono/Ini federal constituency has been cancelled,” he said.
Omoregbe added:“ I received reports from the Collation Officers that supposed to collate the result in the area, that election did not hold.
“The whole exercise in those 17 polling units were marred by violence as materials were either hijacked, disrupted, or people were being chased, among other things of that nature.
“From the Collation Officers in the field who were supposed to collate, they all came back and had written reports, and the result sheets they supposed to fill are all here. Apparently, there was no election for now.
“On the other constituency of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency, I am still expecting to hear from them, but I believe at this point things went well. Perhaps, in the next couples of hours, the result will be declared.”
The REC said the commission would take a decision on the matter after a meeting in Abuja.(NAN)

Voter Apathy Mars Supplementary Elections in Edo
The Supplementary Elections for the state and National Assemblies on Saturday in Edo were characterised by voter apathy.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the exercise took place in Egor, Oredo East, Ovia South West for the state assembly and Orhionmwon/Uhumwode Federal Constituency.
In some centers visited, there was visible presence of security personnel and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who did not have much to do.
In Ward 12, Agbado Primary School, Oredo Local Government, Ward 01, Oredo Council, an open space behind Oredo Secretariat and Garrick Memorial School, Ward 1, Oredo, only few voters were present to cast their votes.
One of them, Mr Francis Osayande, attributed the low voter turnout to people’s lack of interest in the electoral process.
According to Osayande, the election is peaceful but people did not come out to vote.
“I think they have lost interest because they feel that votes do not count in the country,” he said.
He further said that many decided to go for their business activities “rather than waste their time going to vote when their votes won’t count”. (NAN)

EFCC Arrests 12 in Kano, Katsina for Alleged Vote buying
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it arrested 12 persons for alleged vote buying in Saturday’s supplementary polls in Kano and Katsina States.
The EFCC Kano Zonal Commander, Faruk Dogondaji, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview that the suspects were arrested with N1.5 million cash in Kano and Katsina States.
According to him, 10 were arrested in Doguwa Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State and two in Kankiya LGA of Katsina State.
Dogondaji said that the suspects were arrested while attempting to induce eligible voters with cash in some polling units.
He said that the 10 suspects were apprehended with N1,357,500 million in Doguwa LGA, while the two suspects were arrested with N242,000 in Kankia LGA.
“We will also be physically present in all the collection centres to prevent change of results,” he said.
He said that the presence of the personnel in the electoral process would add credibility to the exercise.
The EFCC commander said the suspects would be charged to court after investigation. (NAN)

African Bar Association President Decries Electoral Malpractice, Ballot-snatching During Sokoto Supplementary Poll
The President of African Bar Association, Barrister Hannibal Uwaifo, has described as unacceptable some of the electoral malpractices witnessed during the National Assembly Supplementary election in parts of Sokoto state.
Speaking at a press conference in Sokoto Uwaifo said his team saw a lot of ballot box snatching in the state and violence in some of polling units as well as mutilation of results sheets among other malpractices.
According to him, some of the electoral officers were attacked and beaten by political thugs with no help coming their ways.
Meanwhile there is a large turnout of voters in most of the polling units visited with less hitches as a team of security personnel including men and officers of the Nigeria Army were stationed around most of the polling units.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, the APC candidate, as winner of the Oluyole Federal Constituency election.
Prof. Jacob Olaniyi, the Returning Officer, announced Akande-Sadipe as the winner on Saturday evening in Ibadan, at the end of the supplementary election held in two polling units in the constituency.
According to him, Akande-Sadipe scored 14,891 to defeat her closest rival, Mr Abdul-Mojeed Mogbonjubola of PDP, who scored 13,073.
The returning officer said, “that Tolulope Akande-Sadipe of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared winner and is returned elected.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akande-Sadipe is currently representing the Oluyole Federal Constituency at the House.
The electoral body had declared the election held on Feb. 25 inconclusive following the malfunctioning of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines and cases of over-voting in the affected two polling units.
This made the commission to conduct supplementary election in the two polling units on Saturday.(NAN)

PDP’s Agboworin Wins Ibadan South-East/North-East Federal Constituency Seat
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate, Rep. Abass Agboworin, as the winner of Saturday re-run election in Ibadan South-East/North-East Federal Constituency of Oyo State.
Agboworin, a current occupant of the seat, was declared elected after he polled 28,111 votes to win the supplementary election.
The INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Benjamin Olley of the University of Ibadan, announced Agboworin as the winner at the accient Mapo Hall Collation Centre in Ibadan.
“Today, April 15, 2023. I, Prof. Benjamin Olley, hereby announce that Abass Agboworin of PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declare the winner of the supplementary election into Ibadan North- East/South-East Federal Constituency of Oyo state,” Olley said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Agboworin won the election ahead of his closed contender, Adedapo Lam-Adesina, son of the late former Governor, Lam Adesina.

Violence Recorded in Some Polling Units in Kano

Voters turned out en masse to exercise their franchise in polling units designated for election across 16 Local Government Areas in Kano state where the supplementary elections for the House of Representatives and state House of Assembly took place.
Our Correspondent who monitored the exercise observed that election materials arrived at polling units as early as 8am., while the election started at about 8:30am in most polling units.
The staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also arrived at their duty post on time as they attended to voters who queued to vote for candidates of their choice.
The police authorities in the state provided adequate security at polling units and within the areas where elections were held as police and sister security agencies were sighted at strategic locations, while others were on constant patrol checkmating movements and activities of unpatriotic elements.
However, there were stories of snatching and destruction of ballot boxes and menace of political thugs in some polling units at Fagge Federal Constituency where candidates of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Labour Party (LP) were contesting the supplementary election.
It was gathered that at Kurna Gabas polling units 430 and 026 in Fagge, ballot boxes were destroyed by political thugs.
But at the Kwachiri polling unit in the same Fagge area, the election was going on smoothly, as voters were sighted exercising their franchise.
The Assistant Inspector General of police in charge of the Kano supplementary election, AIG Ibrahim Sani Kaoje and the Commissioner of Police in charge of the supplementary election, Mr Muhammed Gumel and their teams were sighted moving around parts of the state where the supplementary elections were held, monitoring the exercise.
The supplementary elections for the Federal House of Representatives was held in the Fagge Federal Constituency and Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency, while the state House of Assembly supplementary elections were held in 14 state House of Assembly Constituencies which include Ajingi, Danbatta, Dawakin Tofa, Gwarzo, Gezawa, Makoda, Takai, Ungogo, Warawa, Gabasawa, Tudun Wada, Gaya, Wudil and Garko.
INEC is expected to commence collation and announcement of results later in the day.

Collation of Supplementary Election Results Ongoing in Rivers
Collation of supplementary election results held in Gokana/Khana federal constituency on going at the Khana local government collation centre in Bori.
INEC had fixed Saturday, April 15 to conduct elections in polling units where the exercise was suspended in Port Harcourt II and Khana/Gokana Federal Constituencies of Rivers last Feb. 25.
The elections were conducted in 42 polling units and at Registration Areas 04 and 07 in Khana/Gokana.
It held in 377 polling units and Registration Areas 05, 10 to 18 in Port Harcourt II constituency.

APC’s Plang Wins Plateau Central Senatorial Seat
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Hon Diket Plang, the winner of the Plateau Central senatorial election.
Declaring the results, the returning officer Goman Lar, said the collation and resumption of results by the Electoral Empire’ followed the non completion of the collation of results in 9 Polling units and after carefully investigation the electoral body gave directives that results should be collated along side the April 15 supplementary elections.
According to the returning officer, Diket Plang of the all progressives Congress scored 131,129 votes to defeat his closest rival Golkuna Gotum of the Peoples Democratic Party, who scored 127,023 votea to emerge as the senator elect for Plateau Central.

High Voter Turnout in Sokoto
Saturday’s supplementary election being conducted by INEC, recorded high voter turnout as election began early in the affected areas in Sokoto State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that voters, especially women, came out in large numbers at the polling units while combined teams of security agencies enforced movement restrictions in Sokoto metropolis.
NAN reports that the supplementary elections are taking place in some polling units across the 23 local government areas for 10 National Assembly seats not concluded on Feb. 25.
At Magajin Gari B ward, Garkar Alkali Yahaya 003 polling unit, election had commenced as early as 8 a.m and voters formed queues in oderly manner with cooperation from the party agents.
The Presiding Officer, Mr Abdulbaqi Abubakar, told NAN that Biomodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) had been working smoothly and voters complied with instructions.
Abubakar said the four INEC ad hoc staff were present while political parties presented three agents each, adding that the security personnel attached to the polling unit had not showed up.
He said that accreditation was on going smoothly, BVAS is working well while accreditation and voting were in progress.
The situation is similar at Rumfar Kyahel polling unit 008, Kofar Atiku, ‘Yargoba and Kanwuri all in Sokoto North Local Government Area.
Some eligible voters, Aminu Rufa’i, Kabir Nasir and Maryam Bello, commended the process and expressed the hope of rounding off early, without experiencing what occured during the previous election. (NAN)

Oyo Supplementary Election Hitch-free, Says REC
Dr Adeniran Tella, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Oyo State, says the supplementary election conducted in two Federal Constituencies in the state on Saturday was hitch-free.
Tella made this known while addressing newsmen after monitoring the exercise in the eight polling units spread across the two affected Federal Constituencies in Oluyole and Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East Constituencies.
According to him, the supplementary election has been peaceful and free of any form of violence.
He said that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines used in all the polling units worked perfectly well.
Tella commended the voters in the concerned polling units for coming out to exercise their franchise.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that voters in the affected polling units were seen on queues while INEC officials were attending to them for accreditation and voting.
The party agents of the two major contesting political parties- All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were present in all the polling units.
The presence of security personnel, namely Army, Police and Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) were noticed.
A cross section of the voters at the polling units commended the electoral body for the smooth conduct of the election.
Commenting, the PDP Vice-Chairman South-West, Taofeek Arapaja, lauded the efforts of INEC for the smooth conduct of the supplementary election.
Arapaja said reports received from all the polling units showed that the commission adequately prepared for the election with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) working perfectly well.
Also, Mr Israel Oguntobi, a Chieftain of APC, acknowledged the peaceful atmosphere that characterised conduct of the election in all the polling units where elections were held.
Oguntobi commended security agencies for ensuring adequate security at the polling units.
NAN also reports that the supplementary elections were held at two polling units in Oluyole Federal Constituency.
The polling units were: RA 02/U001, located inside Abbey Technical College, Akala Way, new Garage and

Rivers Supplementary Election Peaceful amidst Low Voter Turnout
The Saturday’s supplementary National Assembly election in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers commenced smoothly and peacefully despite low turnout of voters.
The electoral officers arrived early with the materials at Rumuwoji Ward 12 Unit 6 Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2, but up till noon, very few persons had cast their votes.
Some residents told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that they would not participate in the election because the results of the Feb. 25 and March 18 elections did not reflect their votes.
Mr Godfrey Udom said that his vote would not make any difference from what the result was before the cancellation of the earlier one.
“As you can see people are not interested in this election because they came out in large numbers during the general election, but what they expected was not what they saw when the results were declared.
Also in Units 8, 9 and 10 not many voters did came out to cast their votes as INEC officials waited patiently for them.
Mrs Faith Araon, however, said she came out to cast her vote because she had hope and believe that Nigeria would be great with good governance if people voted and their votes counted.
Araon urged the electorate to have faith in Nigeria and contribute their quota to strength the country’s democracy.
NAN recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission suspended elections conducted for two National Assembly seats in Port Harcourt Local Government Area over irregularities.
The affected polls were those for the PHALGA 2 House of Representatives and the Rivers South East Senatorial District held on Feb, 25. (NAN)

Anambra Govt Worried About Level of Vote-buying in Supplementary Poll

Anambra State government has expressed worry about the high level of vote buying going on in the supplementary election for House of Representatives in Ogbaru Federal Constituency.
An official of the state government, Hon Ifeanyi Okeoma, who also works as the commissioner for works said the level of vote-buying was denying voters the opportunity of making their rightful choices in the election.
Speaking with journalists at Okpoko, Okeoma said: “We are worried. For us (APGA), people should be able to vote their choices, without looking at any inducement.
“We are hopeful that despite the high level of vote-buying, APGA will still win the election, because as you already know, Anambra is APGA land.”
Meanwhile, in polling areas monitored by our correspondent, the APGA candidate, Hon Arinze Awogu and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon Chuchu Onyema, who is also an incumbent lawmaker, are said to be involved in vote-buying.
A source at Manus primary school polling unit in Okpoko said one vote costs as much as N10,000.
Though Okeoma insisted that his party, APGA, was not involved in vote buying, an agent of Labour Party, Mr Chinedu Eze, wondered why almost all members of the Anambra executive council were deployed to Ogbaru for the election.
“I have seen the commissioner of works here, I have seen Dr Alex Obiogbolu, who is the special adviser on politics, I have also seen commissioner for Local Government, community and chieftaincy affairs, Tony Nwabunwanne here. None of them is from Ogbaru. So, if they are not buying votes, what are they doing here when there is restriction of movement?” Eze asked.

INEC Declares Bomai winner of Yobe South Senate Seat
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday declared Sen. Ibrahim Bomai of All Progressives Congress (APC) as the senator-elect for Yobe South.
INEC Returning Officer, Dr Abatcha Melemi of the Federal University Gashua, made the declaration in Potiskum.
Melemi stated that Bomai scored 69,596 votes to defeat Mr Halilu Mazagane of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 68,885 votes.
He said that Yerima Adamu of ADC scored 652 votes, while Jauro Ishaku of LP scored 471 votes.
Melemi said that Isa Musa NNPP scored 3,277 votes while Maisambo Barde of YPP scored 448 votes.
“I, Abatcha Melemi, the returning officer for the 2023 Yobe South senatorial district election, held on April 15, declares;
“That Bomai Ibrahim Mohammed of the APC having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared as the winner and is returned elected,” he said.
Speaking shortly, Bomai thanked the Almighty Allah for the victory.
“We are overwhelmed and filled with joy for the resilience and tenacity shown by the multitude of our good people of Yobe South in giving me a second mandate.
“This victory has further emboldened and made me more resolute in my commitment at bringing more people’s oriented projects and programmes.
“As well as completing the ones we started in improving the lives of the common man in Yobe South,” he added.
INEC had declared the Feb 25 election inconclusive following the cancellation of the Polling Unit 003 results in Manawaci in Fika Local Government Area leading to Saturday’s rerun. (NAN)

High Voter Turnout in Zamfara
Massive turnout of voters heralded Saturday’s supplementary elections in Zamfara Central Senatorial District, and in Gusau/Tsafe and Gummi/Bukkuyum federal constituencies.
The supplementary elections are taking palace in 90 polling units in 24 wards in six local government areas of Gusau, Tsafe, Maru, Bungudu, Gummi and Bukkuyum.
Voter accreditation began early as INEC officials reported promptly at the polling booths.
The early turnout by voters and by INEC officials were noticed in affected polling booths in Tsafe Local Government Area and in Gusau Local Government Area.

Polling Booths Open Early in Imo Amidst Tension
Polling booths opened early on Saturday morning for the supplementary elections in Imo amid large turn out and tension.
The candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Akarachi Amadi; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Osmond Ukanacho and the Labour Party (LP), Mr Uche Ogbuagu, are the three major contenders for the Mbaitoli /Ikeduru Federal Constituency election.
The supplementary polls are also being conducted for three State Constituencies of Isu, Ahiazu Mbaise and Ideato South.
Materials left Mbaitoli Local Government Area to respective polling units with heavy presence of security personnel.
At Eke-Amaehi Polling Unit 021, Eziama, the Polling Unit of the candidate of the APC, Mr Akarachi Amadi, there was large turn out of voters.
The Presiding Officer of the polling unit, Mr Peter Anatu, said accreditation and voting started at the booth at 8:00 a.m.
Anatu said no challenge had been recorded with the use of BVAS at the polling unit which had 1,382 registered voters.
A voter and the President-General of Eziama Autonomous community, Mr Maxwell Ozurumba, commended the large turn out of voters.
“The process is calm. There were no gun shots or violence so far witnessed at the polling unit as reported in the social media,” he said.
At Amaike Mbieri, unit 010 at Amankuta community civic hall, about 75 persons had voted at the unit by 9:45 a.m. which had a total of 798 registered voters.
At Amaike Mbieri, unit 011 Amankuta community school with 565 registered voters, election materials arrived at about past 8:00 a.m., but voting was delayed until about past 9:00 a.m. because party agents insisted on confirming the authenticity of the result sheets and other sensitive materials.
The Labour Party candidate for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, Mr Uche Ogbuagu, denied the rumours that he had stepped down for the candidate of the APC, Akarachi Amadi.
Ogbuagu further dispelled the rumour that he was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
He also urged INEC to redeem its image, saying voters were already disenchanted with the Feb. 25 and March 18 general elections.
“I am not just concerned about winning but about the sanity of the process,” he added. (NAN)

Vote-buying, Thuggery in Anambra National Assembly Rerun

There is serious vote buying by leading political parties in the Ogbaru Federal Constituency supplementary election in Anambra State.
This is as three of the leading political parties in the election have also unleashed thugs in various parts of the local government, where the election is being conducted.
Many voting centres visited by our correspondent within the local government, witnessed huge influx of thugs, despite the massive deployment of security officials, including police, navy and army personnel.
At Manus primary school, Okpoko Ward 6, suspected thugs, said to be working for the PDP candidate in the election, swooped on journalists who were riding in a vehicle with government number plate, suspecting them to be agents of the ruling party, All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Also, at Okpoko Ward 3, polling unit 004 at St Luke’s Anglican Church, agents of the the PDP and APGA were seen in their camps, where they were making payments to voters who voted for their parties.
A journalist, Mr Sunny David was mistaken for a voter by canvassers of the PDP, and was put on the queue for payment, after he agreed to enquiries from the agents that he voted for their party.
The leading candidates in the election and their political parties are: Hon Afam Ogene of LP, Chuchu Onyema of PDP and Hon Arinze Awogu of APGA.

Voter Apathy in Parts of Port Harcourt
Saturday’s House of Representatives supplementary election in Port Harcourt Federal Constituency in Rivers has been characterised by low turnout of voters, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
In Units 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of Ward 5, Port Harcourt Township, election commenced at 8:30 a.m. but as at 11:26 a.m. only few voters had come out to cast their votes.
Polling Units 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 and 88 of the same ward also experienced a similar situation as voters came out in trickles to vote.
However, the election environment was peaceful and orderly with the presence of the Police and personnel of the Police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at the polling stations.
In Unit 44 Ward 5 opposite the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) office complex, the Presiding Officer, James Ar-Ibibbia, said that no person had voted in the unit as at 10:40 a.m.
The Presiding Officer of Unit 1, Jesse Kio, said voting commenced in the unit by 8:30 a.m. but only few persons had voted.
Some of the voters, who spoke with NAN attributed the voter apathy to doubts over the transparent conduct of the elections.
The PDP agent in Unit 3 Ward 5, Micha Kalio, blamed the low turnout on partly the outcome of the February 25 and March 18 elections.
“Most people in the state are not even aware that the election is being held today,” he added.
NAN reports that some opposition parties in the state, including the All Progressives Party (APC) boycotted the supplementary elections over alleged lack of transparency by INEC at the gubernatorial elections.
Past elections in Rivers were marred by electoral violence, including snatching of ballot boxes. (NAN)

Voters’ Apathy Mars Ebonyi Supplementary Election
Voter apathy trailed Saturday’s supplementary election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ebonyi.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that there was low turnout of voters in some of the polling units visited in Ikwo Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.
The supplementary elections are taking palace in some constituencies in the seven affected LGAs in Ebonyi, including Abakaliki, Afikpo North, Afikpo South, Ezza North, Ezza South, Ikwo and Ivo.
The election is being conducted in Ikwo to elect the representative for Ikwo North constituency in Ebonyi House of Assembly.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the elections inconclusive in the areas due to violence and irregularities.
In Ndiogadoshi playground, polling unit 017 ward 02 in Ikwo Local Government Area, NAN reports that INEC officials arrived with materials at 9:25 a.m.
In Ugbodo village hall and Olua playground, INEC Officials were present but voter turnout was low.
An INEC official, who spoke in anonymity, told NAN that accreditation was on going smoothly but worried by the apathy among voters.
“The BVAS is working well and accreditation is ongoing,” the official added.
Some eligible voters, who spoke to NAN , cited indifference among other things, as reason for their lack of interest in the process.
Mrs Joy Nwanchor, a trader, said she could not have interest any more after the general elections.

Anger Trails National Assembly Supplementary Election in Sokoto over Late Arrival of Materials

There was anger and fury amongst voters in Sokoto as late arrival of electoral materials characterised the supplementary national assembly elections in the state.
Speaking to newsmen at 017 polling unit in Shuni the member representing Dange/Shuni , Tureta , Bodinga federal constituency Dr Balarabe Kakale said he was disappointed at the action of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Kakale noted that upon the assurance the electoral body gave them , the umpire had not shown commitment to conduct free, fair and credible rerun .
He said the election that should have commenced by 8:am, electoral materials are yet to arrive at polling units at 10am.
He alleged that the action was a ploy by INEC to rig the election, saying even when they came late most of the BVAS machines were not functioning and the adhoc staff on ground to operate the machines were inexperienced.
“You know billions of naira were voted for INEC for this election but look at what is happening, even their adhoc staff were not properly trained”, he stated.
He said they had registered their protest to INEC, saying the trend is discouraging.
He implored INEC to allow the will and wishes of the electorate prevail.
“Virtually every where the story are the same, in Amana, Dange, Shuni same story,” he said.

Voting Yet to Commence in Some Polling Units in Anambra

Voting is yet to commence in some polling units in parts of Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area, for the House of Representatives supplementary election for Ogbaru Federal Constituency.
Ogbaru is the only constituency, of the 11 in Anambra, where election was inconclusive, during the February 25 election.
At about 11 am in Okpoko Ward 14, polling unit 052, voters were seen sitting forlornly, as they waited for officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission to arrive with materials.
Mrs Cordelia Enwerem, a voter in the area complained about the non arrival of materials, saying there is no threat, yet INEC failed to deploy officials.
In other areas within Okpoko, INEC officials were said to have arrived without result sheets and were chased away by voters.

However, the election umpire declared several polls inconclusive, while it cancelled others due to irregularities and violence in the affected states.
At the top of the supplementary polls today will be the governorship elections in Adamawa and Kebbi states. There will also be supplementary polls in five senatorial districts, 31 federal and 58 state assembly constituencies.
In the Adamawa State governorship election result declared on March 11, incumbent governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 421,524 votes, while his main rival, Aishatu ‘Binani’ Dahiru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 390,275.
Fintiri defeated Binani with a margin of over 30,000 votes. The governor also won the election in 13 of Adamawa’s 21 local government areas while Binani won in the remaining eight.
But the state’s Collation Officer, Prof. Mohammed Mele announced the cancellation of elections in 69 polling units in Fufore Local Government Area, which affected no fewer than 37,016 potential voters with PVCs in those units.
Although final results showed that Fintiri scored the highest votes, INEC said the cancelled votes were more than the margin of victory between him and the runner-up, Binani.
It, therefore, declared the governorship election in Adamawa State inconclusive.
Today, the 37,016 potential voters in Fufore will determine the fate of Fintiri and Binani as they renew their rivalry.
Idris Vs Bande in Kebbi
The Kebbi State Governorship election results announced after the March 11 polls showed that the candidate of the ruling APC, Dr. Nasir Idris scored 388,358, while Mohammed Bande of the PDP scored 342,980.
There was cancellation of results in a number of local government areas of Kebbi State, cutting across a number of Registration Areas in different polling units.
The cancelled votes were more than the margin of victory between Idris and Bande.
As a result, the Collation and Returning Officer of the election, Prof. Yusuf Sa’idu of the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, declared the Kebbi governorship election inconclusive.
Prof. Yusuf Sa’idu said: “We aggregated the total number of collected PVCs in polling units where elections were cancelled and it came to a total of 91,829.
“And when we checked the results, the two leading political parties in this contest, APC and PDP polled 388,258 and 342,980 votes respectively. When we look at the difference, it stands at 45,278.
“By virtue of electoral provisions and the powers vested in me as the collation and returning officer of 2023 gubernatorial election in Kebbi State, I, Prof. Yusuf Sa’idu of the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, hereby declare the governorship election in Kebbi State inconclusive.”
Senatorial Elections
There will be supplementary senatorial elections in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states.
In Sokoto, elections will be conducted in Sokoto-North, Sokoto-East and Sokoto-South senatorial districts.
In Sokoto-South, elections will hold in 133 polling units where a total number of 73,471 PVCs were collected.
In Sokoto-North, elections will take place in 166 polling units with a total of 106,207 PVCs.
In Sokoto-East, elections will be held in 90 polling units with a total of 48,075 PVCs.
In Kebbi and Zamfara states, the election will be conducted in one senatorial district each – Kebbi-North and Zamfara-Central.
While the election will be held in 23 polling units in the Kebbi-North, electorates in 83 polling units will be voting in the Zamfara-Central senatorial election. They have 13,243 and 47,277 eligible voters, respectively.
House of Representatives
Supplementary elections for House of Representatives will be held in 31 constituencies in 15 states.
They are Akwa Ibom (2), Anambra (1), Bayelsa (1), Edo (1), Imo (1), Kano (2), Kebbi (2), Kogi (1), Oyo (2), Rivers (2), Sokoto (11), Taraba (1), Zamfara (2), Jigawa (1) and Ebonyi State (1).
Sokoto State
There will be House of Representatives supplementary elections in Rabah/Wurno, Yabo/Shiyari, Sokoto-North, Sokoto-South, Kware/Wamakko, Kebbe/Tambuwal, Isa/Sabon Birni, Gwadabawa/Illela, Gudu/Tangaza, Gada-Goronyo, Bodinga-Dange Shuni Tureta and Binji-Silame.
Zamfara State
House of Representatives supplementary elections will hold in Gusau/Tsafe, Gummi/Bukkuyum
Taraba State
House of Representatives supplementary elections will be held in Takum/Ussa/Donga.
Oyo State
House of Representatives supplementary elections will take place in two units in Oluyole and Ibadan North-east/Ibadan South-east.
Kogi State
House of Representatives supplementary elections will hold in 44 units of Dekinna/Bassa.
Kebbi State
In Kebbi State, elections will hold in seven units of Arewa/Dandi federal Constituency while in Koko Bese/MayanmaMayanma federal Constituency, elections will be held in six units.
Kano State
House of Representatives supplementary elections will take place in 13 units of Tundun Wada and in Fagge.
Jigawa State
There will be supplementary elections in six units of Gumel Federal Constituency.
Imo State
House of Representatives supplementary elections will take place in 58 units in Mbaitoli/Ikeduru.
Edo State
House of Representatives supplementary elections will be held in 48 units of Orhionmwon Uhunmode.
Ebonyi State
There will be supplementary elections in 35 units in Ezza-North Federal Constituency.
Bayelsa State
House of Representatives supplementary elections will hold in 32 units in Southern Ijaw.
Anambra State
There will be supplementary elections in 45 units of Ogbaru Federal Constituency.
Akwa Ibom State
House of Representatives supplementary elections will take place in 17 units of Ikono/Ini and in 25 units in Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika.
Rivers State
There will be supplementary elections in Port Harcourt II and Khana/Gokana federal constituencies.
In Port Port Harcourt II, the election will be held in 377 polling units within Wards 05, 10 and 28, respectively.
In Khana/Gokana, the election will be held in Khana Wards 04 and 07, across 42 polling units.
Houses of Assembly
For the state Houses of Assembly, elections will be held in 58 constituencies across 17 states.
Tinubu Sues for Peace
President-elect Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians in the areas slated for supplementary elections to conduct themselves peacefully and eschew violence and any act prejudicial to orderly electoral processes.
Tinubu in a statement he personally signed said as the last leg of the 2023 general election, everyone must ensure that the electoral processes are brought to a final, peaceful conclusion.
He noted that it was only when there is a country that aspirants to political offices could have seats to contest for and the electorate have people seeking their votes.
The president -elect stressed that like the INEC officers, the candidates and the electorate, therefore, have a solemn responsibility in this election, adding that they must ensure that the additional polls are conducted not only freely and fairly, but also devoid of tension, acrimony and violence that will threaten the very fabric that holds the country together.
