Foundation Charges Nigerians to Treat Humans with Value

Virtues Life Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, is passionately championing the course for Nigerians to place more values on human lives, starting from the homes to the society.

At the Value for Human Life conference powered by Virtues Life Foundation, the Convener of the Programme, Alexander Faranpojo, a Reverend, said the conference became necessary in this time of grave insecurity.

Upon realising the need for swift intervention for moral decadence among others, the convener alongside his team resolved to take a positive step into nurturing value for life among Nigerians.

“We all can’t just keep waiting for the government to do something all the time. We are also playing the role in this same country where we have the office of citizenry,” he added.

He noted that everyone can start in their little way by demonstrating value for life one after the other for the “people around us and the ones we are yet to meet”. So it’s all about the passion, the commitment in making humanity better and serving them as well.

Part of his suggestions included treating people with regards, this is because he realised the extent to which people need help. “People who are going through stuff are everywhere around us.”

Consequently, Virtues Life Foundation intends to scale up its conversations with systems. “There’s such a thing called education system. Perhaps the idea will be laudable enough to brace it from the regulatory bodies of education and include it as a subject or as a Moral Learning or Civic Citizenship, where we can discuss value for human life as a course.”

Chorusing the words of the convener, Virtues of Life Foundation Project Manager, Funmilola Faranpojo, describes themselves as advocates.

“Every human life counts. And we are an advocate. We are going to propagate this, say it loud and say it everywhere and promote this initiative through the conference.”

Much more than the conference, Funmilola said they were determined to make it a lifestyle for people to start valuing lives more than before.

Their quest is to make the community, the society, and the nation at large to be a better place. “There is so much decadence. There’s so much loss of value for human life. People don’t value that’s why you see someone can come out to boldly kidnap another human being like yourself and demand ransom.”

Today, the project manager listed some of their activities including sharing gift items, lectures, training, project, providing medical help among others to propagate this gospel of value for human life.

In her statement, Shirley Eferewo, a pastor, acknowledged the conference as one addressing the general issue in the country and the world today.

“This has to do with human life, trying to draw attention from the immediate community and the world over to look at what value is placed on human life in Nigeria and also around the world maybe.

“I should mention to you that human life has become very valuable whether in death or in life because that’s why there’s so much killing, either they are killing for the cuticle or they’re killing for the valley.”

For her, this conference tells the world it’s a time to look into the kind of value it has placed on life and what they are doing to preserve it. “It is also about what we are doing to innovate sustainability around human life and the environment.”
