Insecurity: Hon. Otubu Calls on US to support Nigeria’s Fight

Hon Cliff Otubu has appealed to the United States Government to assist Nigeria in tackling the security challenges in the country.

Hon Otubu who is the president of Delta Peoples Alliance (DPA) made this appeal at a meeting with officials of the US Department of Homeland Security said the security challenges in Nigeria is cause for concern, as it is affecting both local and international interests.

Otubu who was accompanied to the meeting by the Publicity Director of the group, Comrade Prince Otemu noted that, the series of kidnappings, armed robbery, banditry, terrorism, incessant herdsmen and farmers clashes have led to the loss of innocent lives and property in the country.

He added that, this situation continues to discourage potential and aspiring investors. Hon Otubu noted that though the Nigerian government and her security agencies are doing their utmost best to tackle the challenges, the country needs the additional technical expertise and financial support of the US Government.

He urged Nigerian youths to shun all forms of illegal acts and channel their youthful energies into positive endeavors that will move the nation forward.

At the end of the meeting, the Publicity Director of DPA, Comrade Prince Otemu told members of the press that DPA is already organizing programs designed to meaningfully engage Nigerian youths to sensitize them to register to cast their vote in the 2023 elections instead of allowing themselves to be used as political thugs or miscreants.

He stated that their agenda, as patriotic Nigerians in diaspora is to promote unity, peaceful coexistence, good governance, and to rekindle the spirit of patriotism among Nigerians living in the diaspora.
