Davido Hints at Giving Away Almost N200m Birthday Cash Gift

Celebrity artiste, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has hinted at giving away almost N200 million cash gift he received on his birthday this week.

“Might give it all away,” Davido wrote yesterday on his Twitter page, and this has been interpreted as a definite hint at what he intends to do with the huge fund he has received so far.

The award-winning artiste had challenged each of his friends, fans and associates to donate a million Naira on his birthday this week, with a target of N100 million, which was exceeded within an hour, according to the singer, who shared evidence of payment on his Instagram page.

Davido’s Instagram post requesting birthday cash gift read, “We rise by lifting others abi? Me I don dey rise dey lifting others for the past 100 years. So, I want to know who my friends are. All of my friends one one million Naira. They said we are 30BG. If you don’t send your own, you out of here. You are gone (sic).”

Initially, Davido’s post where he requested N1 million donation was taken as a huge joke, but it took an interesting twist within an hour when he reportedly said he had received over N53 million, and the funds kept hitting the account he provided.

Billionaire Femi Otedola was said to be one of the early donors, but the amount was not disclosed. Renowned socialite and entertainment grand-master, Obi Cubana responded early also with an undisclosed amount, just as he did not say what others, including Patoranking and E-Money lodged.

However, there is a long list of friends and associates that made him feel special with each donating N1 million. He listed the stars as: Teni, Mr. Eazi, M.I, Eniola Badmus, Chike, Zlatan Ibile, Phyno, Sydney Talker, Adekunle Gold, Nengi, Charles of Play, Nasboi, Cubana Chiefpriest, Peruzzi, and Naira Marley.
