Osinbajo to Attend Museveni’s Inauguration in Uganda

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will be representing President Muhammadu Buhari at the inauguration of President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda today (Wednesday).

Osinbajo, according to a statement issued yesterday by his spokesman, Mr. Laolu Akande, the vice president will be joining other African Heads of State and Government for the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for today (Wednesday) May 12 at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala, the nation’s capital city.

The Vice President who earlier yesterday participated at the resumed National Security Council meeting presided over by the President at the Presidential Villa later traveled to Lagos for a tour of the manufacturing facility of SecureID, one of the three smart card manufacturing companies in Africa.

He departed Lagos yesterday evening for Kampala and would be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubairu Dada, and the Special Adviser on Economic Matters to the President, Ambassador Adeyemi Dipeolu.

Osinbajo is expected back in the country today.
