The Adesida /Oyemekun Road, a major road in the heart of Akure, the Ondo State capital, is now deserted following ongoing sporadic gunshots between supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It was gathered that the clash, was a reprisal for last night clash between supporters of the two political parties.
During last night clash, one person said to be an APC supporter, was injured with matchet cut, at Obanla junction.
As at the time of filing this report, no fewer that two persons, were said to have been shot.
An eye witness, who spoke with THISDAY, few meters away from the scene, said the parties’ supporters, were in two groups of about 50 each.
The clash occured just few meters away from the A Division police station.
