Enugu State Governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has congratulated the new National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr. Chris Isiguzo and the union’s National Vice President (South East), Mr. Petrus Somtoochukwu Obi.
Isiguzo emerged the president of the president in a peaceful and transparent election, which took place at the 6th Delegates’ Conference of the union, held in Abeokuta from Wednesday to Friday.
In a statement yesterday, Ugwuanyi describing the emergence of Isiguzo and Obi as well deserved and an eloquent testimony to their diligence and merit in the journalism profession.
He noted that the two new national officials of the NUJ have spent a better part of their journalism career in Enugu State, saying they had distinguished themselves creditably and contributed immensely to the development of the state and the country at large.
He therefore, wished them God’s guidance and success in their new assignment, urging them to remain committed to the ethics of the profession to help build a better society.
