International Oil Companies (IOCs) operating in oil-rich Obotobe community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State have heaved a sigh of relief following the peaceful installation of a monarch for the kingdom.

The kingmakers, chiefs and people of Obotobe kingdom successfully and peacefully crowned a new Paramount Ruler, His Royal Majesty, Emmanuel Wareweimi Arikawei as the Ebenanawei of Obotobe kingdom.

Prior to the ceremony, there was apprehension amongst the IOCs that any crisis in the process of installation of the monarch by the host community might hamper their operations.

Their fears were however allayed with the historic coronation, where the monarch was selected, crowned and subsequently introduced to the entire people of Obotobe kingdom by the duo of Pa. Aretekumo Bibai and Pa. Officerowei Kuruboke, who are Amakosuowei and Egede-Okosuowei respectively.

Both Bibai and Kuruboke conducted the selection and crowning. The Bolouwei (Traditional Prime Minister) of Obotobe kingdom, High Chief Tunde Smooth presided over the event on behalf of the Regent, Chief James Yeinamagnegha, who was not able to attend the ceremony.
