A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has stated that Nigeria is in a great danger as a result of insecurity and uncertainty, hence in dire need of a leader that will salvage her from the sorrows and pains.

Makarfi stated this on Tuesday when he visited Lafia, Nasarawa State as part of his consultative visits in the country.
The former governor of Kaduna State noted that he was known for his record in peace-making processes, while in office as governor.

“I will ensure to the restoration of the peaceful coexistence that the country is known for long, which neither tribal, religion nor cultural affiliation had affected,” he said.
Makarfi, who was the National Caretaker Chairman of the PDP, said his declaration for the office of the president came after wide consultations.

“I was nobody working selflessly for PDP in Kaduna when I was made the party’s flag bearer and subsequently voted as governor of the state. People accepted me based on my past records of achievement, while in office as governor, and senator, as well as acting chairman of the PDP. PDP has done everything to me and I will not publicly disgrace the party after using the platform to attain greater positions in the country,” he explained.

Earlier, the state Chairman of PDP, Francis Orogu, who welcomed Makarfi and his entourage to the state, said PDP in Nasarawa State would support him by giving him votes to enable him clinch the presidential ticket of the party for the 2019 general election.
