At the just concluded Nigeria Tech Innovation and Telecom Awards (NTITA) 2017, organised by the Association of Telecoms Companies Of Nigeria (ATCON), Galaxy Backbone won the Public Sector ICT Infrastructure Provider of the Year Award. The event, which took place at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, was a gathering of industry leaders, decision makers, practitioners and the media.
The event was a great opportunity for both Information Technology and Telecommunications leaders from both the private and public sector platforms to interact, share ideas and celebrate one another on the successes and milestones achieved during the passing year NTITA also recognised ICT Professionals in the industry that contributed immensely to the growth of ICT in the country. Galaxy Backbone’s Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Yusuf Kazaure, was recognised as the Public Sector ICT Personality of the Year 2017, an award he humbly received from the President of ATCON, Mr. Olusola Teniola.
The contributions of Yusuf Kazaure to the growth of Information Technology in the nation’s public sector, was the reason he won the award.
Through his leadership, Galaxy Backbone has expanded its network coverage across over 18 states in the federation and is still currently expanding its reach to the other parts of the country. In receiving the award, Kazaure thanked ATCON, the organizers of NTITA 2017 for the honour being meted on him. “I am humbled by this award and grateful for this recognition. Galaxy Backbone will continue to identify itself with the industry and partner relevant stakeholders in the delivery of efficient and reliable ICT services across both Federal and State public institutions,†Kazaure said.
