Task Force Commander Vows to Raid Criminal Hideouts in Plateau

Special Task Force on security in Plateau (Operation Safe Haven), monday said it will in two weeks raid and dislodge all criminal hideouts in and around Jos, and ensure that the criminals are brought on their kneels in the state.

The task force Commander, Major General Rogers Nicholas, who was posted to the state last week, ordered the Sector 1 commander, Col. Mohammed Musa, to raid and clear all criminals around Mista-Ali and other neighboring communities.

He also urged the troops to apprehend and bring to his attention any security agent engaged in drug use.

“We are not going to pity anybody, we are going to raid some of these places where we have issues of drug barons, we will work with the NDLEA, and if you are caught you will be dealt with according to the law,” he warned.

The commander said he will in the next few days hold meetings with youths and religious leaders, promising that the task force will contribute to the empowerment of idle youths in the state.

Earlier, the Chief of Mista-Ali, Danladi Akinga Kasuwa, told the commander that the area had witnessed peace even at the height of ethno-religious crises in the state, but was currently being faced with increased armed robbery attacks. He appealed to the task force to ensure that the robbers are not spared.
