Ekopages Launches SDG Literacy Drive 4.0 Across Lagos

Ekopages has announced the fourth edition of its SDG Literacy Drive, a play-centered sustainability education programme that will engage children and teachers across selected schools and communities in Lagos State from September to December 2026.

Launched in 2023, the SDG Literacy Drive uses storytelling, reading, games, creative arts, and hands-on activities to help children understand the Sustainable Development Goals and connect them to everyday life. Previous editions and related Ekopages initiatives have reached more than 80,000 children through physical and digital engagement.
The SDG Literacy Drive 4.0 will directly reach 1,000+ learners and 50+ teachers across multiple communities, with a focus on climate literacy, waste management, biodiversity, responsible citizenship, reading culture and environmental innovation.

The programme will centre play as a tool for learning and action. Children will participate in SDG-themed reading sessions, Bingo, puzzles, charades, recycling activities, creative crafts, waste sorting, and tree planting. An SDG Essay Competition will also provide children with an opportunity to express their ideas about sustainability through writing.
Speaking about the initiative, Zipa Tenn, CEO of Ekopages, said:

Through SDG Literacy Drive, we are creating spaces where children can discover that they have the knowledge, creativity and agency to become changemakers in their communities.”

The programme will culminate in #PlayforthePlanet on December 5, 2026, bringing together literacy, play and environmental action. Ekopages is welcoming schools, volunteers, educators, organizations, and partners interested in supporting the initiative through collaboration, book donations, funding, and volunteer participation.
