Tourism Professionals Honour AITEC’s Bouraima, Balogun

The Institute of Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN) has honoured the President of the Africa-International Tourism and Economic Council (AITEC World), Dine Bouraima, and the organisation’s Vice President for Communications and International Relations, Kazeem Balogun, for their contributions to tourism development and economic growth in Africa.

The awards were presented during the gala night of the 9th National Transportation Tourism Summit and Expo held at the NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, before an audience comprising government officials, tourism stakeholders, transport experts, diplomats, captains of industry and development partners.

Bouraima received the ‘Pan-African Tourism Leadership Impact Award’ in recognition of his leadership in promoting sustainable tourism, regional integration, investment and economic cooperation across the continent.

Balogun was presented with the ‘African Tourism Media Excellence Award’ for his contributions to tourism journalism, strategic communications and the promotion of Africa’s tourism, culture and investment opportunities through the media.

Speaking after receiving the award, Bouraima described the recognition as a tribute to the collective efforts of AITEC World and its partners across Africa.

“This honour recognises the collective efforts of AITEC World and our partners across Africa. We remain committed to working with governments, international organisations and the private sector to build a stronger, more competitive and more connected African tourism industry,” he said.

On his part, Balogun dedicated his award to tourism journalists and media professionals promoting Africa’s image on the global stage.

“I dedicate this award to tourism journalists, media professionals and storytellers who continue to project Africa positively to the global community. I remain committed to strengthening strategic communication and promoting the continent’s immense tourism, cultural and investment potential through innovative media platforms,” he said.

AITEC World said the awards underscore its growing influence as a pan-African organisation using tourism as a catalyst for economic transformation.

The organisation noted that it remains committed to connecting Africa with the rest of the world by promoting strategic partnerships that encourage tourism development, trade, investment, cultural exchange and sustainable economic growth.
